hello. um i just flash the new 1-16 rom onto my phone.i had the 1-10 before. so i did a backup. now the rom is flash i cant setup my gmail . app just closes. help.

Check the md5 of your download. Sounds like it could be a bad download or flash. Make sure it's charged. And do the wipes before flashing

make a backup in recovery, then try wiping cache only then flashing the rom and gapps.

I tend to wipe system also in the recovery. This still will keep your data intact.

What is going on, what are you / the phone doing at reboot?

I use the WiFi tether built into the phone, Settings - Wireless & networks - Tethering & portable hotspot - Portable WiFi hotspot checked and setting below it.

Most commonly random reboots come from over clocking too high. Try lowering it slightly. I personally never go over 800

Here's the 3.6 BobZhome kernel and modules by itself. Try flashing this and see if it fixes your wifi problems. Could be the dirty flashes are not wiping the old wifi module. BobZhome.3.6.IHO_kernel.zip

I have occasional wifi issues too. A quick switch to airplane mode and back fixes it.

If it does it again, just FULL WIPE then flash. That helped me when Wifi kept turning on and then immediately back on.

I tried all 3 suggestions, the full wipe (last resort) ended up fixing the issue. Battery life seems to be back up as well. I just gotta get everything back to the way I had it setup before and I will be set.

I was WiFi tethering the phone then it would just reboot on me. it hasn't done it to me for a few hours now. I just powered down the phone and turned it back on seems to be ok after that.

so i flashed this rom and it was working perfectly for a day and then all of a sudden, the process com.android.phone stopped working, and even when i reboot the phone it keeps stopping and I have no service, please help ASAP

I also did the setcpu profiles to help the battery, could that be the problem?

If I just want to update to the latest rom, will I have to redo all of my settings and perform a restoration of all of my apps or can I just flash the new rom and maintain all of that stuff?

OK, back on Xionia recovery and upgraded to the newest cm7. Everything is now working the way it's supposed to.

you can do a "clean flash"(wipe cache, dalvik cache, clear data, wipe system) which is probably safer, or you can do a "dirty flash"(wipe nothing). Or, you could do what Pkt_Lnt did (just wipe dalvik cache(which is under advanced)and cache partition). Clean flash wipes away everything(your sd card, music, pictures are on your sd card and thus Will Not be deleted). Dirty flash does not wipe any of your data, but is a little bit risky. If you get a lot of f/cs after dirty flashing, you may want to clean flash.

Seems many use Google Voice instead. I'm looking at doing that, still undecided.

Get the file VVMCM7.11.7fix.zip in the first post, flash in recovery and you will have it. There is a gapps file with the VVM fix included as well. I used the 1214 gapps and then the separate VVM fix.
