Kernel: HydroKernel 2.6.35.7 v01pre4 (yes it's the ICS version)
Recovery: Cannibal v1.1
Phone: Optimus S LS670 (Sprint) ZVD

Bug: Wallpaper is just a bunch of pixelated trash. Colors are off, blues are yellow, reds are blues, etc.

Long pressing and trying to take a screenshot just puts everything back to how it's supposed to look This was a clean install.

Btw I had the same problem with both releases in Alpha 11. It's a real eye sore. Any ideas?

Your Kernel maybe, try sticking with the original when you flash the rom

Yep, pretty much. I've been pretty focused on Cannibal Open Touch lately and haven't really given HydroKernel much attention.

Kraven, I downloaded your 15D and tried to flash but it gives me this error

assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "thunderc_LS670" || (says it twice)
Error in the zip (Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Am I doing something wrong?

You need to upgrade to the new Cannibal Open Touch recovery where the asserts were fixed. There is one in the Optimus S forum and one in the Optimus V forum.

Have the same problem here. Xionia CWMA.

I'm uploading alpha15e to fix xionia installs. Otherwise replace this line in the alpha15D zip file. Navigate to the file updater-script located at

META-INF\com\google\android\

edit the file
then replace the first line with

assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "thunderc" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "thunderc");

Save the file, and flash with signature verification off.

Otherwise wait till i upload alpha15E

It did in the past, but I am on the S. Did you know that @thekraven has teamed with @tdm for the quattruimus ICS for the VM, VS and OS? You might be better served with that one since there is a VM version.

The fix for the home / menu key swap will likely be needed, but if you ran it before, you know that. Try it and see, you can always restore a nand if not.

Someone said that the button fix does not work, but the ROM does work on the VM.

Still fine tuning my minty fresh clean install of a15d (read, tweak, reboot, check, repeat over and over), and it made me look at this, since it has been an issue to resolve.

ignore me if this is the wrong place or it has been answered.
I flashed 15d via cannibal 1.1 yesterday. everything was awesome! Woke up today, and cant get a good sync status. As in, my data signal never goes blue. it is staying grey.
I have rebooted a few times. Turned wi-fi on and off. Turned Airplane mode on and off. Turned data on and off. All to no avail. Tried to find the right thing with dev tools. but, couldn't see what i was looking for.
If there is something I missed, can anyone point me towards the right place?
Other than that issue, this is great! haven't had the dreaded disappearing text issue! Which was the only problem i ever had with 11.
