[ROM]COLD AS ICE-CM9+Paranoid Android LS670 11/20 ZVD basesband Alpha19

Re: [ROM]COLD AS ICE-CM9 Sprint LS670 6/26 ZVD basesband Alpha16

Well according to Titanium backup...my System Rom only has 10.6 MB free. Know of a way to free that space up?

How much free space for your /cache partition? how about /data?

I was also getting the 3g data lockup issue after dirty flashing from 15 to 16e and believe I found the cause as after doing this the issue never reappeared. I also wasn't getting any notification for texts due to this issue, and this took care of that as well. Hope this helps...

Here's the situation: old mms user data from the previous rom/version inside your messaging threads, especially with pictures was causing a conflict. You send a pic through mms and it gets stuck on sending, after which your 3g data locks up, but not wifi data. A reboot would be the only way to get 3g data back.
The solution; simple. All you have to do is open the messaging app and delete all threads. Done.

Also, to those of you getting the "package file is invalid" or similar issues when downloading large apps from the market, I found that uninstalling it, then immediately installing the new version right from the market took care of the issue. Some of my app downloads would randomly say insufficient space even though I've got 83mb left in ROM space, and uninstall/reinstall update version also took care of that.

Anyone know what the benefit of the 16e zip align fix would be? I'm assuming just a more compacted rom....is that right?

I've had good luck using Barnacle WiFi Tether but only without encryption enabled.

CM9 Alpha build for Sprint optimus S
"COLD AS ICE"
ZVD only

These are public test builds, so expect bugs. There won't be too much to changelogs till Beta. Test away and report bugs and what works for you. ETA's does kill puppies. So don't.

this one seems to work really well, but you need to load it a couple of times and switch the mode to the second one available. I was able to share my 3g with my Android tablet and laptop. My blackberry wouldnt find it, but I'm ok with that. There is an old version of the wifi tether app that works excellent, but it got pulled from the market, if I can post the .apk I will put it here.

@thekraven...ok so if youtube HQ works on the galaxy ace, which is the SAME chipset as the Optimus S, Qualcomm MSM7227 (Optimus) vs. Qualcomm MSM7227 (T) - Galaxy Ace which is meant to deal with the faster CPU on the galaxy ace (800 mhz).

Does this mean that HW decoding may indeed be possible for the Optimus S, for the likes of HD YouTube and other video?

You need drivers. There will probably never be ICS OptiS specific hardware drivers. YouTube HQ works just fine on my wife's phone, running DanteRom. Flash 10.2 works wonderful, under Gingerbread. If you must have flash and/or hardware acceleration, you would probably be better off on a different ROM.

Right. If drivers exist for the same chip set but on a different but very similar device, in theory porting the drivers should be possible.

Just to clear the air here.... The Galaxy Ace and the OPtimus S don't share the same chipset.

There are 35 devices that use the MSM7627 chipset. Some of them use Windows Mobile or PalmOS. One uses RIM Blackberry OS.

We have discovered that there are variances in the chipset between Optimus S's
What can work wonderfully on one OptiS can very well screw up another OptiS.

Optimus S- Qualcomm MSM7627
Galaxy Ace- Qualcomm MSM7227T

My mistake. Extremely similar chip sets same armv6 processor and same adreno 200 gpu. Just saying it may be possible. I know its improbable
