I love the Rom but I wont be able to run it as a daily driver until the native tether app is fixed and usable. I tether my tablet to my phone for internet and use it for school work. I can not be with internet for my tablet. Great job on this though kraven.

edit - Oh, and both of these have given my higher radio signal strength displayed (and in OpenSignalMaps) and is likely why I can get 3G, even inside my house (where signal is weak).

I'm jealous.......tried a5v6......still no data. 3g symbol shows up after I toggle radio, but then ping test fails every time. wifi works.

EDIT: Fist is in my mouth. I just toggled airplane mode on/off, and DATA WORKS> WTCVS(*DPFOSIDF best day of my life
EDIT2: Just kidding, after ten seconds, it broke. Now toggling doesn't do anything.
EDIT3: A radio toggle got it back, but it's shaky...

Clock generally takes a few moments (from 15 seconds to 2 minutes) to update. The problem jumps around from lockscreen to status bar to what apps (like Beautiful Widgets Superclock) show.

The especially funky thing is that the way I usually notice is by checking the reported time in two of those three locations. Status bar will be behind while widgets & lockscreen are spot on; widget will lag while lockscreen & status bar are fine; etc. I'd go so far as to say that in MOST cases, one of those three possible displays shows the wrong time.

About to flash the new cm9.a5.v6.zip boot image. Will there eventually be offline charging?

I tried version 6 and did some testing. My data worked fine. I was unable to bet my tablet or my laptop to recognize my phone was even plugged in but it still charged the phone. Tried going into terminal emulater and typing su and then reboot with no success. My time seemed to be spot on. This Rom is definately coming together. Keep up the good work guys.

Yeah these can just be flashed over each other, similar to flashing kernels. Cache wipe is recommended, but you can do without.

Will you update the OP with the new fixes? I am going to eventually go back to CM9 and I just want to make sure that I will have the most up-to-date version ready in the OP for when I do go back..

I am in CM7 as I was playing with other ROMs and was doing testing on LeWa and Stock ROMs... didn't work out to well.. ;)

USB, adb, wifi, 3g everything works with v10 and v12. I did have to do the airplane/ data toggle dance after v12, but only one time. Wiped cache each time.

Nandroid backup, wipe cache, flash v12 zip, reboot. Edit: I moved up directly from alpha5v5 to alpha5v12; didn't ever bother flashing alpha5v6.

  • USB storage: working
  • ADB: working
  • wifi: working
  • GPS: locks on faster than previously while inside
  • 3G: connects (on initial attempt) after the Toggle Dance. Seems more stable than previously; it'll play an entire song from Google Play Music without skipping as long as song caching is on. (It will even try to play UNcached, though good god, it takes forever to get started and doesn't stream fast enough.)
  • Bluetooth: paired with headset, connected when call was made; call audio was awful, scratchy, useless. Seemed to temporarily interrupt 3G transmission (which returned after Bluetooth device was unpaired).
  • Camera: Well, it took a failed attempt followed by a "Manage Apps" force closure, and there's still no preview, but see for yourself.

I'd say that's a pretty positive list, huh?

I ran into a few things last night that didn't deserve such glowing praise. I'm trying to pinpoint how they happen before I go into it, see if there are workarounds.

One thing that doesn't require a lot of thought: GPS seemed fine when I was still inside my house, but flaked out when I got in my car and started moving. Maps was largely useless.

can alpha 6 be dirty flashed over alpha 5? also v12 broke mms for me that was working in alpha 5 v6
