That is strange. What kernel do you use?

I use test 10 that's in the rom. I do the airplane mode reboot toggle back data back again made a large improvement.

I use opera mobile for my browser not sure if that makes a difference or not.

battery stats show screen using 80% and opera at 5%.

What are your screen off settings like? Maybe dumb it down to two minutes or something lower. Just a guess though

I fixed my "Package file is invalid." problem in perhaps the most horrible way: added an sd-ext partition to my SD card . . . without backing up any of the files on said SD card.

Oops. (In my defense, it was 3 AM and I was stressed about an upcoming trip.) Lost a couple of nandroid backups, and a whole boatload of compromising pictures. Dagnabbit.

BUT, after creating the new partition and using ShadowEO's Mounts2SD, I can install and update apps. I . . . don't ask me why.

Just back up the stuff on your SD card first.

Didn't work for me, first download worked then rest still have the same error :(

Is there a way to access service menus via ICS (dialing ##3282## doesn't work)? I was on thekraven's 7.2 rom and had to restore to stock to do so, and decided to give 10G a shot but want to adjust a couple more settings in there.

Figured that since we're on ICS 4.0.4, I'd post the S-Voice APK :3

xda-developers - View Single Post - S Voice for any devices.
It does work, Speech requires you to extract the APK and copy libsvoxtts.so to /system/lib (and a TTS engine that works, I use Ivona Kendra)

The only things that don't seem to work for me are the Music controls and the name changing. You can install this APK normally but if you want it to talk, copy the library before you install it.

EDIT: Enjoy the screenshot ;)

How did you get it to work? After i say something, it answers put the mic wont allow me to talk again unless i shut the app down. Any help is appreciated

Either turn off the text to speech using the button or have a separate engine installed (I use Ivona), also it seems to work alot better with headphones in.

What doesn't work:
Music controls
Modifying the calendar
Setting an alarm

Also just wait about 30-40 seconds before your next request if all else fails. I have that exact problem sometimes and it seems to solve itself.

Edit: I forgot to mention that you have to copy the library before you install the APK.

Wish there was a way to not use the Sense multitasking. I'm a stock Android kinda guy. :p

Just wanted to chime in because I've been reaping the fruits of this labor. I've been using alpha 10g as my daily rom and it has been running everything flawlessly. Only bug type thing I've experienced is my "speaker" function during calls. It's very quiet. It's barely louder than the earpiece speaker. Other than that, though, no bugs and runs ridiculously smoother than froyo or gingerbread ever did. If there is anything a newbie like me can do to help, please let me know.

p.s. this is my first post ever, I think.

On 10g speaker phone works with Groove IP perfectly.
Have mucho RAM but have to delete larger apps to install without "package invalid" even tiny updates then hope to restore via TB. My other phones have 60% less ram without problems. Something is off as this phone never had this problem until this ROM.

Make sure that you have enough space and that you aren't having connection issues. Package invalid errors come from an incomplete or corrupt download. Also RAM is not as important when downloading apps compared to free space on your NAND. Check that your data/ext partition still has space, the dalvik cache can get pretty big (but if your not getting low disk space notifications, it's not that anyway)

So... I only have clock drift issues when I don't have airplane mode enabled. If I turn airplane on and use only wifi, I don't have that issue...

^^ interesting...

WOW... had absolutely massive clock lag today. clicked on my phone to check the time and it said 8:03 am. Off then back on again and it was really 8:38. DAMN. been happening a lot recently along with a few other odd things that might be related.

Noticed sometimes the phone would drop a call if I moved it away from my ear and then back again (so it turns the screen off). It's also shut off pandora when I press the power button, and I wonder if by shutting off the screen it pauses a lot of processes it shouldn't be?

Also as usual, I go to look at my phone and it had shut off... had to pull the battery to get it to work again. Seems like I'm having a lot of trouble compared to the other builds, this is the first time I just updated vs fresh install. hmm.

Yeah I dirty flashed cm9 over cm7 once, phone worked great for around a day, then it fizzled and popped and smoked..... LOL no it seems that a good wipe before an install seems to be the way to go. At least for me

Is this related to how the phone and towers communicate maybe? Possible that it snags every now and again and doesn't talk to the towers until prompted?? Hell I'm guessing here haha

Sorry to bother you ppl but what do I need to download and install to make this fully functional on my OV??

Yea seems like the optiV users should have a thread for patches, etc in their forums for convenience.

That's why I figured I'd mention it... never had the drift issue really, and today I accidentally turned off airplane mode... (I don't have service on this phone) time drift to the Max. Turned airplane back on and now its all good.
