Na m8, he already did the official update and is now running GB 2.3. I think he's asking for a thread on info on how the ability to root 2.3 is going.

I don't think there is really a running thread per say. But devs are working on it, you can bet on that. I all depends on how bad HTC locked down the bootloader. And from what I've been able to understand HTC also patched some or all of the exploits used to do temp roots like z4root. Not sure of that last part, I've never even looked or used z4root.

OOOOOO...EPIC FACE PALM!!! I should have caught that, that's what I get for reading to fast...lol. Going back and re-reading the post...I totally see his question now. I think you might be right SP, haven't seen anything XDA as of late regarding a new root method for 2.3. I can't wait to see what kinds of ROMs and kernels they come up with the new official one being out. I know the leaked build has made some nice ROMs made from it, but of course that was a leaked build....nothing like official. Not ot say they haven't worked out most if not all the bugs in those build, though I'm sure they are a lot more content actually having the final release to tinker with.

I feel ya man, but I knew Decks wouldn't forget us. I think it's starting to take him a little longer to release updates because hes got this thing rocking on the MyTouch 4G, EVO Shift, Gtab and maybe a couple of more. So he is pumping out updates like crazy for those things as well. Be sure to check his Twitter, that's I found out about 1.2w being released.

I'm gonna wait for your report before flashing this update. My EVO is an effin beast now with 1.2v and the battery lasted 23.5 hours before going down to 18% which is the best it has ever done!!!! I don't wanna lose this greatness

Couple issues: slow after a long phone call and FM receiver quality

I was on a long call yesterday (1.5hrs). Afterwards, the Evo was very slow. I couldn't switch between windows. I had to reboot.

I tried the FM receiver at the gym yesterday. With the stock ROM, I had pretty good reception, but with this ROM, the reception was bad. I noticed that the FM receiver that comes with this ROM enables bluetooth when FM is being enabled.

Anyone else seen these?

update: one more minor thing. Can't do search in email app. I have both yahoo and Exchange.

Stock Browser Settings...

This is driving me nuts... Where is the setting for the stock internet browser to default to full web sites vice the mobile enabled sites? It used to be plain as day in the settings but now its MIA. Assuming this is an AOSP deal... Not really interested in Dolphin or any other 3rd party browser. The mobile enabled sites totally suck!

I'm pretty sure there is no setting for this (I have never seen it, anyway). The default Android browser is web kit, so when you go to a site, it may detect you are using the web kit browser and auto switch to the mobile version of the site. There should be a link on the mobile page to view full web page (it's typicall at the bottom of the page and might be classic view or full view). Hope this helps.

Yea, I was asking if there was a thread out there with new updates as they develop for GB 2.3/Rooting etc.

Alright, I'll just keep checking the forums... I'm sure once it's possible, that thread will be sticky'd.

got sick of the damn thing freezing up and force closing on me everytime, i just uninstalled it and the stock messaging app is pretty good so im rocking with that
