Re: [ROM] gROM 1.1 - 9/16/11 - GB 2.3.3 - Stuff just got real!

I can verify that it is included in v1.0. Haven't upgraded to v1.1 quite yet so not sure about that.
If its in 1.0 then it should be in 1.1. I could have ganked it when I was upgrading some of the apps. Anyone else on 1.1 that can confirm?

So, I guess I must erase all of my stuff before I can boot grom? Basically the stock zvh booted up with all of my apps intact from reborn...

grom seems to not be happy at all with that...

Guess I'm going to give Titanium Backup a try...

What exactly is happening?

But yeah, I would highly recommend a full wipe!

Re: [ROM] gROM 1.1 - 9/16/11 - GB 2.3.3 - Stuff just got real!

As the reported wired headset problems was the main reason why I didn't stick with any CM7 build, I panicked a bit when I read that people were having problems with headsets with the official Gingerbread (and this ROM, built off of official Gingerbread). I don't talk on the phone much, but when I do it's usually with my mom, and she talks for hours. If I had to hold my phone up to my head during these conversations...ugh.

Anyway, with gROM 1.1 I tested regular headphones and aux-out in my car first to verify that one-way output works, and it worked fine. Then I used my wired headset to call my work voicemail and left a short message. When I called back my voicemail system to listed to my message, it was crystal clear. With CM7 builds it would have been 10 seconds of silence. So anyway, I personally am not experiencing any issues with headphones or wired headsets with gROM 1.1.

Anyone having an issue with USB charging not being recognized? I have it plugged in but I don't see it charging. When the phone is off the LG screen comes up but it doesn't seem to go into the battery animation screen either...

How can we get power controls in the notification bar?
-thanks for the good work, I am running gROM with stock kernel and I love it so far.

Yeah, I cant reproduce the reported issue either

Nah, seems to be working well here.

There are apps on the market that do that. I think people really like widgetdriod or something like that?

Edit: Here it is: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jim2 Thousands of 5 star reviews. I havent tried it out but give it a shot and let us know!

Edit: Oh and here is another one: https://market.android.com/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle

No, neither of those are the same as the notification toggle included in Reborn ROM. The first is just a widget bar like the dozens of others on the market. And while the second one does at least hide it in the notification drop-down like the Reborn app, it doesn't work the same, and requires two presses to do everything.

Like I said before, this is the only reason I'm waiting for a Reborn ROM version of the GB update instead of giving gROM a shot. If you could find a way to add this, I'd use it in a heartbeat.

The one in Reborn seems to be a port of this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877003

These applications are messy, they invoke pop-ups where you have to click again to toggle the state. They are not as clean as the notification toggles we have in other roms. Thank you though for looking.

Gee, just making suggestions guys... Sorry! lol

So the plot thickens.....I got home and had to enable/disable USB debug and I thought it was charging (I was getting the charging icon in the notification bar). I went and looked at the battery and it was not charging and I was almost out of power. I now have it plugged into the A/C adapter. We'll see what happens. Does anyone suggest a full wipe and re-flash?

EDIT - It charges via A/C adapter.

Ok you also have to remember your USB ports on your comp does not give the same voltage on your wall charger being computer is usually lower voltage so longer to charge or may not have enough power to charge idk not looking at your comp but that is definatly one thing to remember when chargeing

I don't have a wired headset...

would you please try this

1. plug in a wired speaker (no mic)
2. play music (should work)
3. dial out to *2 (no sound from speaker)

Did you test it with a call or playing music?

for me, it worked when I play music. However, if i was to make a call (output to a headphone, use phone's internal mic ), no sound gets outputted.

would you please test and verify for me?

Tyia!

So my question and I am sorry if I missed it or it was mentioned but I didn't see it breath does data2ext work with grom

I'm having some weird issues with data. I've reproduced it three times between reboots. For a while the 3g and wifi icons work but later either the 3g icon won't display when its connected or the wifi icon wont show its connected.

Now my wifi icon says its connected but i cant load anything (webpages, market).

Thanks,
