Re: [ROM] - gROM 2.0 - 10/5 - GB 2.3.3 - ROM Updater and O/C'ed!
Is there a way to enable the surface dithering on this rom? I was looking through the build.prop but don't see it listed on there. I ask because there is a lot of banding on the wallpapers I'm setting on this optimus
Sorry if this is an obvious answer, I have a hero so I'm not familiar with everything here.
Hmmm... Not ware of that option. If you can link me to something that explains it more I will certainly look at it.
im getting a error with wifi tether
Make sure you are setting the device profile to Optimus S>
Hey Scott.
I'm curious as to whether you were able to do anything about two Gingerbread issues in this iteration: doubleclicks when switching to left/right homescreens and the extremely loud in-call volume. The former is a minor problem, but the latter is a dealbreaker.
Honestly I never noticed the in call volume. IM doing this blind meaning I dont have service on this device. So its never been looked at. I should be able to get an operator error or something to test on. But... On the same note... You should be able to use the built in DSP Manager to kill some of that volume. How much? I dont know. BUt I know it can detune things a bit. Give it a look at and let me know.
The screen issue? I'm not seeing it. Its an issue that some see and some dont but all people see it go away after a reboot or two. I dont know what causes it. But I do know I did not see it on this version. You may or may not have different results.
Will the old themes from Theme_team still work on 2.0?
They should, but with the same stipulations as before. They will kill the CRT animations but they should have no affect otherwise. Beings that they are based on older versions of Gmail that might cause an issue too. You could always just nuke the gmail app in the ZIP before you flash though.
When the screen times out, it has a different animation, is there a way I can change it to just fade out instead of it flashing like an old tv?
Yep you can. I am planing on doing some options for the ROM Updater and that will be one of the options
I'm getting ready to update to 2.0. I'm planning to do it anyways, but does the overclocking have a noticeable difference on battery life? I use juice defender to help drag it out, but was curious as to any difference?
Well, in hereint to any overclocking is higher battery drain. But how much, I cant tell you. I can tell you this however. I am using the same performance level settings that I used on all my prior ROMS (CleanROM, sROM) and people loved the battery life on those so I would expect similar results with this one. But like I said, its TBD. Maybe some one who has ran drews kernel longer than I have can chime in and say for a fact. But overall I am sure battery life will be decent.
ALSO: I have included No Frills CPU Control so you can clock it down (Or UP!) if you feel the need. Just throwin that out there...
Damn, you're cranking out those updates =D. Thanks! You're doing really great! I appreciate all the hard work.
Thank you!
This rom ROCKS!
Love the new boot animation!!!!!!!!!!
I told you dude. You would love it. It rolls out wit a quick and smooth attitude!
When will themes be ready to use on the ROM updater?
As soon as people tell me they want to share them! lol
I cant just take the Theme Temes work and stick it in. Well, actually I could... But I wont out of respect for jstnp. He worked VERY hard on those themes so I dont want to disrespect him by adding them into my work wihtou his blessing. People do that to me all the time and I dont care. I could care less actually. Hell I encourage it. I cant have people stop and ask me to use my work. Just take it. lol But other people dont feel that way. Sorry, I cannot control how others feel, lol
I will be adding some of my own creations later on today. I will be putting in the old sROM theme that people liked and I will be adding a couple more icon packs. Nothing super intense like what jstnp does but something to give you more options. IM not as graphically "developed" as he is. lol
I already have some cool ringtones and some cool fonts in there. Did you check them out?
Thanks for all the feedback guys! I am really glad you enjoy this beast!
