Anyone having trouble purchasing from the market with this rom?

I can download free apps with no issue. But cant get any pay apps to work. I have to go purchase them vai the PC based android market
I am. I missed out on some $0.10 apps because of the issue. :( I tried completely clearing Market Data, and also uninstalling the update through Application manager in settings, but still had the issue, never really had a chance to look any further into it though.

im having problems with the tethering

THe native tethering application will crash when you close it. It's a known bug with the app from the google repository, which GRom uses. If you want a cleaner version, you can download it from the android market, but I think those may only work in ad-hoc mode or something.

When saving the rom into sd am i supposed to rename it? I did everything correctly but i cant seem to install anything from sd because the update.zip doesnt exist.

>Use the Install zip from SD, and just browse to the file you want to install. In this case the rom.

Im unsure how I can do that, can u explain more thoroughly?

...this is all assuming, of course, that you have already rooted your phone in ZVH and installed a custom recovery application...

You need to reboot into recovery, then choose the Install zip from SD option. From there, you'll navigate to the location you downloaded the GROM installation zip file (which you hopefully did not unzip), choose the <GROM>.zip file to install, then install it.

It is strongly suggested that you wipe the cache and dalvick cache before flashing a custom ROM, which can aslo be done from the recovery menu.

...wherever you downloaded it to or copied it to?

You either had to download the grom update zip file to your phone or your computer. If you copied it to your phone, it's wherever your phone downloaded it to or wherever you told it to download to. If it's on your computer, then you need to copy it to your phone.

Now, after you know where you downloaded or copied the Grom...zip file to on your phone, you'll need to navigate to that file from within the recovery menu, choosing the Install from zip option.

Does that make sense?

I found the setting turned off in my Facebook app. Must have been changed when the new app was installed. After going to settings in the Facebook app and adding account sync, I was then able to use it with my phone contacts.

I flashed Grom 2.2 on my Lg Optimus S after upgrading to ZVH and I am getting random notices that my sd card is safe to remove. I did not have this issue in ZVD and Reborn Rom 2.2.4. Any suggestions on what I should try? And yes when I flashed the rom I did a complete wipe.

Did you flash drew's kernel v8.1? That will more than likely fix the sd issues.

I will do that tonight. I found the thread. So if I understand correctly all I have to do is put it on my sdcard reboot to recovery then flash it like I did the ROM

Yes, no need to wipe anything. Just follow the instructions in drew's thread and you should be good to go. That fixed my sd issues. Good luck.

Download kernel to sd
Boot to recovery
Flash kernel (no wipe needed)
Reboot
Enjoy

I have a question about this rom if anyone knows the answer. It comes with no-frills overclock and it is set at 748mhz max by default. I have set it a bit lower because my optimus is not quite stable all the time at that speed but it seems that it will go back to 748mhz after a reboot unless I set no-frills overclock to apply at boot and then even sometimes (for example when I reboot via Quickboot) It will say that there has been an improper shutdown and will not apply my CPU settings at boot.

I assume that there must be some script file or setting file somewhere else in the rom that is setting it to 748mhz. Does anyone know where this is so I can change it?

I'm sure that you could edit the file directly, but I'd need to look through to see exactly where that's set. However, in the meantime, I would just do as I did and stock using NoFrills. I've ALWAYS had issues with it. Instead, try SetCPU from the Market. Works for me 100% of the time, no problems.

I'm having problems there's a bad screen glitch its annoying and I don't like it can you fix that or update g rom so I can go back to it I really don't like opti-rom that much please help it messes up your experience

Noob Help Please. I just rooted my phone, have loaded grom onto my sd card root but cannot get it flashed. I have Xionia CWMA Recovery but when I go into system recovery it is the <3e> which won't allow me to load the rom. When i select "apply sdcard:update.zip" it says there are no such files in directory and signature verification failed. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds llke you DON'T have Xionia running yet...

You need to choose "install zip from sdcard"

If you dont see that option you still have stock recovery.
