Sorry if this was posted somewhere already, but does anyone on MidNIGHT know where the patch is to remove SMS mssgs from the call log? It's getting really annoying and I don't recall this happening on the prior few builds... Thx

If you still have your patch from DK28 Froyo to remove them you could use that. Check midNIGHTs list of addons, etc. at his site he will probably have it listed on there and it should work for EB13 too..

Im on truly epic 1.5 rebirth now with EXT4, How would I install this rom properly?
Can I restore all of my "data" using advanced restore in Clockwork? I Messed up the first time installing rebirth and was able to restore my data properly using advanced restore but im curious if doing the same with this rom would it cause conflicts?

Is there a "real" difference between the two?

What particular data do you want to restore? It may cause issues. Best way is to back it up through titanium backup and then go through each app individual and restore data that way. If you do that, you will be able to know which restoration is giving you force close issues (IF ANY) and undo the changes. Otherwise, you will be guessing if you have issues after you restore everything.

Note: you MAY not have any issues at all. Maybe you should back it all up and try the original method you want and if you run into problems with some apps, etc just do a clean wipe + install and follow the method i describe above

Music Player/Video Player apk issue

Backed up my ACE rom setup and decided to try Midnight ROM to see what building it all myself would be like. Judging on CPU usage and kernel stepping, I dont think the battery life will compete, but im giving it a shot.

Everything has gone well minus two things: I cannot find a music player apk in the EXTRAS folder (included with midnight v 4.0) that WORKS. Everytime I try to install the music player running android (unpacked the standard edition zip on my computer and put the apk for music player on my sdcard), it simply tells me the application was not installed. Same goes for the videoplayer.

I have virtually nothing installed on this setup other than the apps I want, so perhaps im missing something the music player depends on (and videoplayer depends on)? I managed to successfully use the above method to get gallery, gmail, keyboard, etc with no issues.

Any advice would be appreciated...

Setup: Epic 4g, rooted, midnight 4.1 upgrade, genocide 0.3a kernel

would anyone happen to have a "vibrate/silent" ringer? I have a contact that, no matter what ringer I have applied, i want the phone to vibrate.
I also checked previous ROM audio files & saw nothing noting "silent" or "vibrate."

Any reason that I should not just ugrade from Midnight 2.9 straight to 4.1 with the upgrade zip?

I have already done this with no problems but am I missing anything by doing it this way and skipping 4.0?

midNIGHT 2.9 is based on Froyo DK28

midNIGHT 4.0/4.1 are based on Froyo EB13

You should convert to Froyo EB13 before attempting to run the newest midNIGHT or there could be conflicts between Froyo versions.

NEED HELP ASAP - I THINK I HAVE BRICKED PHONE

I was running Midnight 3.1, read and decided to go to 4.1. Read, reread, and read again instructions, downloaded everything.

Phone is completely black, won't boot, turn on, or do anything with or without battery.

I ran Odin, put EB Tar in PDA, Victory pit in pit, hit start. Showed complete and okay.
Went to Root, ran new OneClick for EB13. Phone went black.

Now completely unresponsive.

Can you help here or do I need to go to XDA - AC instructions always easier to read (not as technie) and I don't want to double post, but its completely black - this is the reason I almost didn't update, everything was perfect.

It is pretty hard to brick an Android phone... did you update your modem from DK28 to EB13 before you upgraded your ROM? 4.0 and 4.1 are based on EB13... try flashing that with ODIN if you have not already, or use ODIN to flash to stock and start over with a fresh device... if you can do the boot into the mode that allows ODIN to work, everything is salvageable... if you cannot get the phone to boot under any key combinations, it might be bricked or battery conked out, but honestly, every time I thought I'd bricked my phone, I realized I missed a step somewhere and just fixed it by retracing... good luck...

That's what I thought.
I read and followed Paul's instructions as stated above.

I was on DK28. I had downloaded EB13 but hadn't done anything with it yet.

Should that be in Odin somplace?

I put EB13 Tar in Pda, nothing happened. Then I added Victory 8G Pit file to pit. Ran and completed, then went to Root

So after reading instructions again, I must have missed doing the modem.

And I just got lights on to download screen, but computer is not showing phone.

I can try Odin, would you verify what goes where or do I do something with Modem first.

If this works, I will thank you as many times as possible!!!!!!

Nevermind. It worked! midNIGHT rom is the ish! Best mod so far! How do I get the midNIGHT rom screen? You know the one with the moon and tree? It's not on the midNIGHT wallpapers
