Is it because of the theme I'm using? I tried the black android theme mentioned above but my status bar still looks broken and sms is still not themed. I searched on the Chinese MIUI theme and they say that MIUI V4 changed some directory for the background of the sms theme so it won't be compatible with 2.3 themes? The official announcement said the background image was moved from framework/res to com.android.mms/res/drawable-hdpi/window_background_texture.png but the theme I downloaded had that image in framework/res.
I'm confused and too sleepy to think

Looks like only my phone is having these problems, status bar not themed properly and SMS is not themed. Also if I clear cache and wipe boot/system etc before flashing the ROM my phone would not boot. I've waited more than 20 minutes and had to re-flash just the ROM and gapps to get it to boot. Any idea what the problem might be?

Ok, I backed up my theme and attaching it. Try it out if you want. It themes almost everything. Place it in sdcard/MIUI/theme/ and apply from theme manager.

from home screen, select settings, then select@ top of screen personal, then select custom theme, @ bottom of screen select customize, select what you want to customize...as per OP stay away from lockscreens using this method you might not be able to unlock..noticed after setting you might have to reboot

Also tried the Suave HD theme for MIUI V4. It's a huge file but contact and SMS aren't themed. Looks like SMS stays the same no matter what...

Yes that's how I've been applying the theme. I checked SMS and I tried applying it from customize-->SMS and choosing the theme but it just wouldn't change.

Ha! I figured it out!!! My MMS app says the version is 2.3.5 which is weird and then I remembered back when Kraven did the gapps with VVM fix he was using another MMS app that he found on XDA that was supposed to fix the 9016 text message problem. Which means the MMS app on my phone is not from your MIUI ROM. I just extracted the stock MIUI MMS app and used adb and replaced the one from Kraven's gapps and now my sms app is themed !!!

Have been using this ROM for a couple of days now and it's truly amazing! I've been using kraven's CM7 since last year and although it's a great ROM and almost doesn't have any bugs right now, I kinda wanted a change. I'm so glad we finally have MIUI for our device now. I've been waiting for one since last year! Keep up the great work! Can't wait for the next update

Thanks, I feel glad that people like it. Updates usually take atleast a week and usually are on the weekends.
Is camera working for you?
There have been issues but no one has reported boot looping until now. Did you clean flash by wiping EVERYTHING? Does it get to the homescreen and bootloop after sometime or simply bootloops without even getting to the homescreen? If first case, consider overclocking to 728/420; if second, redownload and reflash clean. DONOT move apps to SD card.
There is a fair chance that your download might be corrupt. I'm in hurry to get to school but will try to get an md5 by eod.

BTW, if you download MiLocker you can set lock screen using it and it works. No need to download MiLocker thems, it just uses the MIUI theme's lock screen.
I tried a lot of resized MiLocker themes for MDPI but none of them work. Looks like if the images of the buttons are resized to fit the 320*480 resolution they'll end up being too small and it won't unlock. If the unlocker doesn't work, pressing the down button and back button at the same time unlocks the phone.

I wiped everything and I understand it takes a while on the first boot but after a hour I knew something was wrong so I reflashed same result could it be that every day I'm on zvh zvd or zvj I flashed this on vd
