[ROM] Not fully Official CM7 for Thunderbolt. 7.1.1 Updated 10-2

Re: [ROM] Not fully Official CM7 for Thunderbolt. 7.1.1 Updated 1

Overclock is built into CM7 under setting. I see no lag leaving it stock and it's much more responsive than any sense rom i've been on.

I use beautiful Widgets for my home screen and the location for the weather comes up as some crazy place far away. Is there a fix for this?

Do I need to wipe cache if I'm flashing this over CM7?

Apparently the answer at least for me is yes, flashed it and when I reboot it just stayed at the green "HTC" on white background screen. Oh well, this is what recovery mode and backups are for.

I LOVE this ROM! I came from Sense, which I really enjoyed, but after using BAMF for a bit, I flashed to this, freaked out, flashed back, and now am on this again, running various widgets to make it more Sense-like.

However, I can't get the Facebook app to log in. I used to get a FC when I tried to open it, but I wiped Facebook's cache and data using MyBackup Pro. Now, it is stuck on the login popup message, eventually informing me that there was an unknown error logging me in. Anyone else have a similar issue?

My 4G isn't as fast as stock and it drops. It also takes forever to charge. Any tweaks I miss? What radio is best? CM7 newb.

Did you validate the MD5 Sum Code of the CM7 ROM prior to installing it??? And not to assume anything, by 3x wipe do you mean Wipe Data, Wipe Cache, and Wipe Dalvik Cache???

Also, the radio should be fine, but really would not cause this issue... even with an old Froyo radio this ROM will still boot up, but you would just not have any data connection.

Negative on validating the md5. Will need to research about how to do this. Yes I wiped data, cache.dalvik and arse! Any suggestions would be appreciated about this md5 you speak of would be appreciated.

Edit: downloaded md5 checker and file downloaded is identical to the one listed on rootzwiki. So it should load right?

If the ROM's MD5 Sum code does match... I'd pull the battery, put it back in, boot into hBoot, select Recovery, wipe data, cache and Dalvik cache again, then flash the ROM file, then flash the GAPPS file, then select boot up.

You go back the first post... Post #1... click on the link to bring you to the RootzWiki CM7 page... find the GAPPS: Goo-inside Gapps... click on the Goo-inside Gapps link... TaDa... select the Gapps file that matches the CM version... in other words the CyanogenMod 7 file... double check the MD5 Sum code of the file you download.

Also, this might not be the best ROM for people that are new to flashing ROMs... and it also does not have HTC Sense, so people tend to shy away from this... but it's a good ROM... you just have to download and install more than one file... plus some forget when they had the old Froyo ROM and Radio files on their device that they would also have to flash a new Radio... a Gingerbread Radio, but you don't have to do that if you rooted after the Gingerbread OTA.

I did all of this exactly how you just said it. MD5 matches. Everything flashed with out a problem but I still get stuck on the htc white screen. I dont even get to the bootloop. No idea what is going on with this but it seems like CM7 is out of my reach for now.

Do you have another ROM you can flash and get the phone to boot up? I would download the CM7 file again and try once more after that.
In my opinion this is the best ROM available and is worth the effort.
Good luck!
