[ROM] Not fully Official CM7 for Thunderbolt. 7.1.1 Updated 10-2

Re: [ROM] Not fully Official CM7 for Thunderbolt. 7.1.1 Updated 1

I got really sick of sense so I decided to flash this rom and I must say, I really like it. Theres a noticeable performance increase and the vanilla look and feel is much nicer IMO.

...one thing tho, every time I unlock the phone it loads up the browser, even if I didnt have it loaded before locking the phone.

Any idea why?

I have never heard of this happening. Did you figure it out?

Yes i did. I had a lock screen gesture to launch the browser that was too similar to my unlock pattern

so every time i unlocked the phone, the browser would load up

turned off the gesture, now no problem.

So my wife's phone is stuck on the CyanogenMod 7 Blue circle screen now. Our baby picked up the phone and dropped it this morning and the battery came loose so I put it all back together and its been doing this ever since.

I booted into recovery and tried to re-install 7.1.1 but no dice.

Any ideas?

Did you try wiping?

I ended up restoring to a previous version backup and then upgraded to the current version again.
It was odd how that happened. My guess is that the battery disconnect caused the issue.

Any idea what the special surprise is in the about phone?

I'm having a hard time setting an .mp3 that I put on my sd card as my overall phone ringtone. When I long press on it in a file explorer it doesn't give me the option. And then when I go thru the sesttings - sounds - phone ringtone I get just the stock sounds, i can't browse for an mp3. Help please.

I created a folder called "Media" on the root of the SD card, then inside that folder, a folder called "audio", the 2 folders inside audio called "notifications" and ringtones. I put all my files in the notification folder and I can choose them for ringtones or for notifications.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Ryan, once I put it under the notifications folder is appears on my list.

Really enjoying cyanogen, but is there any way to restore my SMS so that old text threads load in messaging? I backed up with titanium, but restoring data doesn't do the trick.

If you want your old texts back, you will need an old nandroid backup. Make a nandroid backup of your current ROM, then load the old one up and download an app like "SMS Backup and Restore" (it's what I use). It will back up your texts to your SD card. Then reload the backup of your current ROM, and restore your texts using SMS Backup and Restore.

When you restore data with Titanium after flashing a new ROM, it will only do the settings and whatnot, not the actual SMS.

Hope that helps.

I have used this ROM for a while now. I used Gtalk video once and it worked great!

Thanks so much! I rolled it back and used this method. Worked perfectly!
