Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

Ok now I've got something strange going on. I wiped my battery stats in recovery Monday at 9:00pm, left phone on all night and day, it's still showing 55%. Also, I've checked my battery use periodically and every time it's always between 55min or 1h on this charge. Also, time since last charge shows same. However, I do have a battery app that is showing the correct time and it shows 55% left also. I guess my question is does anyone here ever had this happen, and how can I fix the time? Also, is my battery going to run completely dead because the phone doesn't think it's low?

Just to let you know, I've had data, gps, and sync on the whole time.

Sounds to good to be true. Lol!!

Thanks for any help.

When you wipe the stats ALWAYS make sure its at 100% charged before you do so... and then after that let the battery run completely dry and the next full charge the battery will give you the right percentage when discharging! :D

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

I have had a problem over the last few days and not having much luck figuring it out. Here is a explanation of what I have done and what is happening.

I noticed that my internal memory has been getting low. Said I had less then 15 after playing google music. So I went to check what I have moved to ext4.
Did terminal on phone and I never got a pop up saying that it granted SU permissions, even after su command, even though it showed that I recieved them on terminal window.
I backed out of Terminal Emulator and went to super user app to see what was up.
The app never came up and showed a black screen instead of app (notifictions and home were ok).
Did a restart on phone, locked up on launcher, and would crash launcher but it would not restart launcher, so I restarted a few more times. Some of the times I would get a lock up on Opti Rom Slash screen.
I decided to do a nandroid backup.
And did a dirty flash.
Dirty flash was fine on launcher, but decided to reload the nandroid backup just to see what I had set before.
I noticed that the nandroid backup that I thought I did was not there but last backup was a month ago.
Ended up loading that backup since that was my latest one and I know that one worked.
Loaded it up and started looking at what I have to reload from titanium, and tried some programs like tapatalk, and xscope browser.
Now I get an error saying internal service failure. Thinking maybe something was wrong I tried a dirty flash and still got the same error..

Now I am stuck with 2 problems. One is device internal room.
Currently I have apps/private apps/dalvik cache running from ext.

Other problem is internet based programs start fine then end up giving me internal service failure (there was an internal error)

Any help on these problems would be great.

Your not stupid...... maybe just a little blind. Lol, take a look at #1 of the instructions. :p

Wow. Didn't see that link at all on work PC. Came home and saw it as soon as I opened the page.

Must be a sign I shouldn't be playing on phone tweaks at work! Lol

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

I have been playing around with the error message that I keep getting and still having no luck.

I think my internal service failure may be due to Amazon app store, but not entirely sure.
If I get it figured out, I will make sure I post a new thread on it.

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

So, I think I have the "original" version of this installed on my wife's phone... I've tried to upgrade to 1.1.1 without flashing, but most applications aren't happy... (like the dialer, contacts, etc)...

Any idea's?

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

from how much feedback this rom has had lately (not much). Makes me think this rom is dead or almost dead.

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

Sorry guys. No time lately to be involved as much. This rom still works. Use this with the newest gingerkernel and it should be good! :)

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

[INFO]Opti-ROM is a cumulative work between beezy, drewwalton19216801, jondevere, and myself.[/INFO]

[Note]Special thanks to droiddoctors.com!!! Be sure to check out the site!!
Another special thanks to jstntp for the continued support and everything else he does. :)
Thanks NIck7 for the contribution and all of your work!! [/note]

[WARN]This ROM is designed for ZVH radios ONLY! If you need to update (and retain root) please follow this link[/WARN][TIP]Prerequisites:
  • Root
  • Custom recovery
  • ZVH Radio
[/TIP]

[INFO]Instructions for installing:
  1. Download ROM from droiddoctors hosting!
  2. Place on root of sdcard
  3. Boot into recovery
  4. Wipe: system, cache, data, dalvik cache (everything)
  5. Flash Debug-FormatSystem.zip
  6. Flash ROM
  7. Reboot
  8. (RECOMMENDED and optional) To remove the sprint IQ files:
    • After you have booted the phone completely, complete these steps:
    • Reboot into recovery
    • Flash this noIQ patch from jstntp
NOTE: This will remove the rom's custom background. Download the original background from post #2 below. :)
[NOTE]
Advanced users:
DO NOT flash any files to try and enable apps 2 ext/sd, etc...!!
I believe this needed it's own thread, but I will start here with this.
I have integrated the DarkTremor a2sd script into the ROM to allow advanced functionality including dalvik-cache to cache (automatically upon flashing the ROM this is active) and apps store on the ext partition of an sd card. These features can be easily enabled and disabled from terminal (command prompt) or terminal emulator.

DO NOT USE THE GUI FROM THE MARKET!
Warning: The commands listed here take some amount of knowledge to understand. You must know what you are doing before you do it! If you experience data loss or more serious problems as a result of these commands, I am not responsible. Use this at your own risk. If this worries you, do not attempt this as the ROM works perfectly fine as it is. These commands are meant to extend the functionality and storage space utilized by the system.
DO NOT USE THE GUI FROM THE MARKET!

On to the explanations. THE ONLY TWO THINGS WE WILL COVER ARE apps2sd and the dalvik2cache! DO NOT ATTEMPT ANYTHING ELSE! DO NOT USE THE GUI FROM THE MARKET!
Starting with dalvik to cache:
Since dalvik to cache is installed upon flashing the ROM, the command to remove it is (adb shell if using computer):
Code:
su
a2sd nocache
To add it back to the ROM enter (adb shell if using computer):
Code:
su
a2sd cachepart

Now, the (not really, but could possibly be) complicated part. :p apps2sd.
This will allow you to store all apps to the /sd-ext partition on the sdcard.
BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE, BE SURE YOU HAVE A PARTITION ON YOUR SDCARD AND IT IS FORMATTED TO EXT(2, 3, or 4)
If you do not follow the prerequisite above, do not report problems.
Make sure to bakup sdcard if you want your contents. Then partition the sdcard under advanced settings. Select your desired size. Select 0MB for swap. Once that is done and while still in recovery, enter the following commands (this will format to ext4):
Code:
mke2fs -m0 -b4096 /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
tune2fs -O extents,uninit_bg,dir_index /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
e2fsck -yf /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
tune2fs -o journal_data_writeback /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
tune2fs -O ^has_journal /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
Once you know that you have an sd-ext partition (the steps above) you can execute the correct command to move all apps to that partition (this may be used in conjunction with dalvik2cache commands above).
Make sure you are completely booted into the Android OS (your phone is on and not in recovery).
From terminal (command prompt) or terminal emulator: to enable apps2sd (adb shell if using computer):
Code:
su
a2sd reinstall
To move all apps back to the internal memory (adb shell if using computer):
Code:
su
a2sd remove
