Roam control by nick7 is confirmed working on opti-rom. Have not tried it on grom yet, but don't see why it would not work either.

Sent from my 2.3.3 Opti-rom W/1Gb internal storage
Always happy to help, Hit that thanks button if I did

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

i can confirm that it does work with Grom as well

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

rom is great. ive been running grom which is also great but i thought id give this a run cuz of the built in app2sd storage managment and im loving it. now im torn between the 2.....great work guys. i updated to zvh early and was a little worried if there was going to be roms to make it worth it and even though there is only two neither disappoints.

Thanks for the feedback! We have a great community here! :D

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

So... after moving apps to sd card, do I need to do anything to restart the dalvik cache, or does following the system do that for me?

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

im having problems with the market telling me that i have insufficient space on the device when there is more than enough. is this a known problem and is there somewhere i can look to fix it. im posting this here because i didnt have the problem till i started using this rom with the storage. i can dl apps from amazon with no problems at all

You don't need to do anything. I'm not sure what you mean by "following the system" though. If you can clear it up for me, I will be happy to answer that question. :)

Yeah, the market has issues. If you already have the apps on an ext partition on the sdcard, you can try moving cache2sd. That usually helps with this. I gave an explanation about 4 or 5 pages back on this issue. Its common when using any mod for storage and is expected when using certain apps. I would link the post but I'm on my phone right now....

I don't know of any that will support that. I have also tried to connect my Optimus S to a keyboard. Never got it to work... :-\

Opti-ROM v1.1 OC

A few observations... I have tried both gROM and OptiRom. While gROM ran with no problems, I am a fan of Beezy and Nick7 (not personal Scott, after all gROM actually ran fine). I did have issues getting OptiRom v1.1 to operate. I saw in the post I am not alone with this issue, but am wondering if there is a default setting in the ROM creating this issue for some of us. It seems that after a clean install (full wipe and running the debug zip) I get into a restart loop, but only when I try to use the device. That is, once the install is complete and rebooted, if I let the phone sit, it seems to be fine. If I try to install application, or access the SD card, the phone restarts. I tried a second clean install and even a dirty install with the same outcome. Then I recalled that I had this issue using Reborn when I jacked the CPU up past 748 MHz. I attempted to see what the speed was set at by default, but I could not get SetCPU installed due to the restart issue.

Is it possible that the default CPU speed for OptiRom is too high for some devices? Could it be set to stock 600 on default, then once stable we could use SetCPU (or similar) to increase to a workable speed for our device (by device I mean the Optimus S, but I do believe the quality varies on production line so I am referring to a workable solution for each Optimus S). Just a thought.

The default CPU setting for this rom is 600. Any issue that anyone has cleared up with this rom have been cleared up in earlier posts. Maybe a read over the subsequent posts will help clear up any issues for you.

Thanks for the feedback. I actually slipped back to Reborn this morning as I needed to have the WiFi hotspot working. I was never able to check the CPU speed as I could not get an app installed. Clearly if it is defaulted to 600 MHz, my suspicion is not valid. Also note, when I went through the threads on this specific issue, I didn't see a resolution (I thought folks were punting assuming it was a draw of the silicon they happen to have). However, I have been reading up in both the this and the gRom threads so it could be I overlooked the solution.

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

Little Help Plz...
Just switched from gRom to Opti-Rom, like both..
But switched for the a2sd feature, as I have 75 or apps, but only 25 installed so far.

My issue is that now i can't install anymore apps "application not installed".
Tried Amazon App Store, Titanium Backup & Market, all same results... insufficient space

It says i have:
7.14mb Free System Rom
115mb Free Internal Storage
264mb Free Ram
3.1gb Free SD Storage
terminal: su -> df /system/sd size:2g used:267m free:1g blksize:1024

Have done:
a2sd cachepart
a2sd reinstall
a2sd cachesd
Moved apps to SD via Settings - Manage

Any help greatly appreciated

A few questions for you to help diagnose your problem:

Did you partition your sd card and if so what size?

Re: [ROM] Opti-ROM v1.1 built-in apps2sd, storage management, OCa

i'm having a similar issue, i've been trying to work with it for weeks lol.

can't install or update anything from market or titanium. insufficient space. df is as follows:
system: 151m used, 6m free
data: 95m used, 69m free
cache: 121m used, 2m free
dalvik:121m used, 2m free
system/sd: 287m used, 673m free

i've tried clearing cache, no help, tried a2sd nocache, phone doesn't boot (stuck at blue opti-rom screen).

tried installing clean, a2sd nocache, restored data and sd-ext, still same space issue.

can't think of what to try next. i'm 90% sure it's because cache is full, if i delete items in cache, i can update and install.

ideas?

upon further reading, i tried a2sd cachesd, seems to have fixed it. will update post if i still have any issues.

Have you guys messed with the beta versions of Wireless Tether for Root Users? (android-wifi-tether - Wireless Tether for Root Users - Google Project Hosting) I removed the market version and installed the beta download from their google site (after removing the included version, I wiped cache from recovery before installing the beta). After playing with some settings (device profile - auto, even though there's an optimus S option!, setup-method - Netd (master)), I connected to it from my laptop, and it appeared to be in infrastructure mode (not ad-hoc!), based on the Windows 7 icon in the wireless AP list :) I also connected to it from my wife's HTC Hero, and it works!

Unfortunately, it reboots when you disable the tether... so that's rather frustrating.

Anyways, I assume you guys have seen this already, but I pulled all this info from the Nexus S 4G forums (which is coming tomorrow - woo!), here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sp...-using-android-wifi-tether-3g-4g-2-3-7-a.html

Hope this can help someone and move things forward!

Wireless tether works just fine for me 0 issues and no rebooting =/ Its adhoc networks made by my desktop that the phone cant see,

Have you tried the beta version of wireless tether? That's what's being suggested to try.... I only use my phone as a hotspot and this is why I have no issues using the version currently packed into the Rom. Makes me a personal adhoc network with security.

That will let me use a wireless network broadcast from my computer? That is what im talking about. Not my PHONE giving internet to my computer, my COMPUTER giving internet access to my phone.

I was told that it was an issue with zvh, but I feel like that response was assuming I meant my phone tethering internet to my computer.

Sorry if this seems angry im just very frustrated that the device I use as a remote to watch shows no longer works >.<

I was only suggesting it as a solution. You can try it. Or not. In your case, it would probably be best to revert back to ZVD to get desired results. Stop messing with something that may or may not work. That's my advice...

Thank you for the advice. I tested it but to no avail. I really enjoy this rom and would hate to go backwards but i might have to
