[ROM][Repost][06/05/11] Comm ROM 2.1 (UKB) from TSM **Updated 06/20/11**

My phone will connect to my car just fine (2011 Jetta). The problem is that once my first phone call ends via bluetooth, something on my phone crashes (presumably bluetooth...i get 4 buzzes but no error message). My car says that my bluetooth is still connected, but I can no longer transmit phone audio over bluetooth. If I go into my bluetooth options, the check box for Phone Audio is blank. If I try to select it, it hangs at a loading screen and then nothing happens...it stays blank.

I'm pretty sure I'm rocking ED01. I've had this issue since I started using SC 2.5 (frankenclean I believe).

I'm assuming it's something with the bluetooth drivers and not the radio since it can still connect and everything. I've been wrong before though. I can play music over bluetooth as well. The only workaround I have discovered is to shutoff bluetooth before my call ends. Also if I immediately call someone after my first call ends it will keep working.

Strange. Test out the crash in your car(crash the phone, not car) then plug into your computer and run: adb logcat > logcat.txt

This will generate a log of what's going on with your phone. Look towards the end of the text file and look for fatal exception or some other line that looks like an error and post it here. Somebody may be able to zero in on the issue for you. You can also try updating your Kernel and retesting.

I helped a user a while back with the same type of problem. He was able to solve it by re-pairing with his car (a GM I think) and NOT transferring his contacts to the car.

Not sure if the VW prompts, or even gives you that option..if so you might try it.

That actually brings up another question. Is BT a Kernel or ROM item? I have an 06 BMW that doesn't read my address book. Phone calls work fine but outgoing #'s show up as **** and the address book shows no entries. I'm assuming it's an issue with the BT version but I don't really know.

Are you referring to my post or are you having some other Facebook problem?

not referring to your post, different problem.

cant add my facebook account to the accounts and sync. i belive its the sns facebook account because i already added the integrated one.

I can't answer your question for sure, but a buddy of mine has an 09 BMW (can't remember model number) and it won't read the address book for his fascinate either. he's tried multiple ROMS and kernels but none seem to work properly.

I am currenlty running CR2.0 and found that I miss the Android Keyboard that was on SC2.9.2. Now I only have Swpe, Samsung Keypad, and Gingerbread Keyboard. Does anyone know if there is a patch for the Android Keyboard? If so, please provide the link.
Thanks.

There is not currently a patch out there that I know of. Nitsuj17 answered this same question over at XDA.and it has to do with either the samsung or gingerbread keyboard being named LatinIME.apk which is the name of the Android keyboard app. You would need to pull the Android keyboard apk out of superclean 2.9.2 as well as the corresponding file in the lib folder, delete those folders from CR2.0 using Root Explorer or similar file explorer app, then use that app to place the new files in the correct folders.

I don't remember seeing anything on this so sorry if it has already been brought up. Has anyone had the SGSII lock screen screwup your phone? I was testing all the lock screens and when i got to it my phone stopped responding to everything. I rebooted but with the same results :( I have had to ODIN back to stock and will try again when i get home.

Thanks Lankshark. Do you know the file names of the corresponding files in the lib folder?

ahhh good call, i didn't even think of that. thanks.

i think i do remember it doing this when i first started. i'll give it a shot, thanks.

No, sorry. I don't. I just looked through the lib ans system/lib folders and didn't see anything that stood out either.

I looked through my system/lib file...there is a a libjni_latinime.so that you can try...

I am running UKB 2.0 though and I'm unsure if the it's named the same in SC.

EDIT: If you can't find it let me know and I'll link you to the one I have.

I know this is a little off topic for the UKB ROM but I was reading through a BMW forum and came across this under the compatible phone list thread:

"Fix for this is counterintuitive. When you start your phone or restart bluetooth go to Settings>Applications>Running Services. Look for the Service "BluetoothPbapService". tap it, then hit stop. This removes it from the list. The phone pairs and uploads the phone book without problems until you either stop and restart bluetooth or turn your phone off. I am looking for a developer who can automate this process with an app without rooting the phone. Hope this helps."

I'm going to try this in the morning.

Note: Mods, I don't know if this violates any rules posting this or not but let me know and I'll edit or update it with whatever info is needed to make this a legit post.

EDIT: I suppose this goes back to my original question about whether Bluetooth info is attached to the ROM or Kernel...

I installed 2.0 yesterday and all is working thus far. How can I change the browser back to how it was in 1.3? Is that part of the TW Clock package? I prefer the list of open windows and the bookmarking in the other browser. Thanks.

Anyone Notice how on the notification bar the icons arent flush with the right side of the screen? On my phone the icons start like a half inch to the left.....that normal?

Also there is a clock icon in my notification bar and I have no alarms set....

I was on rooted stock froyo and followed the instructions in this thread to install 2.0 with no kernel. When I checked my phone status it said my build is ED01 but my radio is ED04. How's this possible?

Also when I select to use gingerbread keyboard eventually it goes back to swype a little while later. Any reason why it would do this?

Don't know what is going on with the keyboards. You are not the only one to have this happen. If you rooted after the last OTA update, you were baseband and build ED04 prior to rooting and flashing the custom ROM (Comm ROM 2.0) Comm ROM is based off the ED01 build, so that is why your build number has reverted to ED01. There is no modem included with Comm ROM, so that's why your baseband stayed at ED04.

Oh ok. Thanks landshark. I thought Ed01 modem was in2.0 and I would have to flash to the latest. This week was the first time I rooted and used a different ROM. So forgive my noobness.
