Now that I've gotten my Fascinate tweaked just the way I like with ComRom 2.0, I notice that there's a Gingerbread leak. Should I be expecting a Gingerbread ComRom in the coming weeks?

Yes... Conversations were that they were going to release CommROM 2.1 in a patch (up now) then they were going to start earnest development on the gingerbread version..

I wonder why they made it so the MIUI lockscreen can only be pulled down now instead of up? Out of habit I go to slide up and I get denied every time.

The Swype version that was installed with CommROM 1.x and 2.0 did not have the licensing information adjusted/removed to afford the end user durability of the application.

teamsbrissenmod is aware of the issue and will have a patch up this week. There are options:
Switch to another keboard in the interim - Gingerbread or Samsung...

You can opt to install Swype 3.0 beta.. (some users reporting that this version is not all that great)
That will require some file work in the phone: - tonu42
Please read posts on mod link prior to taking this challenge on to understand the risks involved.

Battery charge issue when powered off logcat

Ok so I have tried and tried to retrieve a logcat using terminal emulator for this issue, battery will not charge and requires a battery pull to turn phone back on when off. I go through the whole thing and I have the logcat file on sdcard but each time its empty..although it creates the folder, when I put in logcat./sdcard/logcat.text getting unable to open log device message but it still created folder...Wondering if battery pull interrupts everything.......I dont know what Im doing wrong.......any help will be useful. I know of atleast one other person on the forum with this issue.....thanks for the help in advance.

I like swype 3.0 so far. I've been using it for abouto a week now, and it's very visually appealing in my opinion.
The only thing that i'm not thrilled about is that the word suggestion box appears and disappears as you type (depending on what it thinks you're swyping). This appear/disappear act causes the text box to jump up and down. This pisses me off if I'm trying to place the cursor in a particular place.
Other than that, 3.0 looks good.

Are you using that language? "logcat./sdcard/logcat.text"... the extension should be logcat./sdcard/logcat.txt

sorry typo here. I did use .txt
Just flashed commrom 2.1 and still have issue..I know I need a logcat so you guys can see it but not sure I can do it when its necessary to do a batt pull and phone is shutdown when this happens....
Heres my data anyway
1) post your exact setup (version of com rom, kernel, voltage settings, any other mods you did flash)
com rom 2.1
coming from com rom 2.0 - cr20_nomodem_nuts_shark odin package full wipe


2) did you wipe data/cache/davlik cache before flashing the rom
package did that in odin

3) what rom/setup did you flash com rom over
flashed 2.1 over 2.0
flashed 2.0 over stock verizon froyo

4) what is your *specific* problem...not "omgz ma ****z be borked yo"...that helps no one and frankly is annoying to see...
When phone is turned off, I plug in charger get grey battery on screen with progession symbol but battery does not turn green. Upon unplugging phone, grey battery symbol remains and I can not power phone up. Have to do a battery pull to restart phone

I KNOW LOGCAT IM WORKING ON THAT hopefully because it is an issue that happens once phone is powered off there is a way to get a log cat...
PS: I LOVE THIS ROM AND THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HARD WORK! I actually went back to stock to see if it was occuring with verizon froyo. It does not.

Sorry for your frustration. I can agree that certain posters are trying to add humor and it does not improve the function of the phone.

Are you using the terminal emulator on the phone or adb from the computer?

I believe your problem is with the script language you are using:
Take the quotes off and you will be able to run a logcat with the following commands:
adb:
"adb shell" enter
"su" enter
"logcat > /sdcard/logcat.txt" enter

Terminal Emulator:
"su" enter - you will be asked by super user for permissions - grant it. You may also have to restart the terminal emulator..
"logcat > /sdcard/logcat.txt" enter

Make certain that you use su (superuser) or you will not have permission to use the logcat command.. and that you have a space on each side of the ">" symbol..

This will then start to drop the logcat.txt file onto the root of the sdcard..

You should be able to link that to the TSM fellows.

There is a version that is unthemed - Basic ED01 Swype

This is the stock ED01 Swype. apk and library file. it is a bare bones fix until TSM gets the full patch up:

You will have to boot into recovery
Delete your Dalvik cache
Then flash this zip..

Confirmed working fine...

Only with comrom 2.0 and now 2.1.Yes I have tried it with a different modem via odin and also flashed via CWM. Yes I have cleaned USB on phone aned chargers. Yes I have tried different chargers as well. I have a spare and the original. I have tried to charge it on laptop, desktop and wall outlet.I love this rom it makes my phone perfect. I hope you guys can figure out whats the cause of this issue cause I cant do stock froyo....lol ..no really I cant deal with its lameness!! SAVE ME!

He has indicated that it "should" work...

I can confirm this does work but I would sure love to have the previous one back in my phone. I like the more stock look, the orange stracer, and the clicking feedback sound is not so loud/distorted.

I just flashed the 2.1 update using CWM, phone rebooted correctly. now looking under about phone Firmware still says UKB2.0 Just wanted to know if there is a way to verify everything updated correctly.

Go to Settings > TSM Parts > Lockscreen Settings>.. If you see Lockscreen Wallpaper.. you updated.

I am really thinking of flashing to GB. With the stock Odin package does it matter if you are currently running VooDoo? I am thinking it will format and flash over everything.
