[ROM]Superclean 2.8!! *UPDATED*

Ok, I got it to work for me.

I used CWM 2.5.1.x to format my SDCard. (Needed some spring cleaning anyway)
I used Odin to install EB01_DXC.tar.md5
I booted into that version
I turned off the phone
I Odin'd CWM-Recovery-All (1).tar
I copied eb16_nonvoodoo.zip and super-frankenclean_2_7_1nv.zip to my SDCard.
I booted into CWM
I installed eb16_nonvoodoo.zip
then I installed super-frankenclean_2_7_1nv.zip
I rebooted from CWM
The Samsung logo showed up for about 30 seconds and then the flashy honeycomb animation showed up and it booted into 2.7

About phone reveals:
Firmware 2.2.1
Baseband version S:i500.04 V.EB01
Kernel version 2.6.32.9
Build Number SCH-I500.EB01

Is that info correct? Should I see something about EB16?

Do you have a link to EB01_DXC.tar.md5?

I think people who d/led and installed the patch from earlier will get the samsung boot hangup screen if they try to flash sc2.7_all.

I was one of the ones who did and had to restore from a previous 2.6 backup.. flash cwm_recovery_all via odin to overwrite the nonsense that 3.0 was giving me. Hope this helps.

Was freezing at Samsung logo when using the old cwm found in Droidx sticky (update.zip). When ahead and installed the new cwm-all (found here). Now the new 2.7.1 installs fine. The hanging at the samsung logo has something to do with the old clockwork. (at least in my case)

On to a separate problem. Has anyone else noticed that when screen capture is used the screen will not turn off/sleep? (when hitting the power button(short press)) I notice that it will go back off if I kill the screen capture app manually. So for some reason the screen capture function is not allowing the screen to sleep. I am using Launcher Pro, but think it happened with the Launcher that is included in the SuperClean ROMS.

Should I remove the 2.7 patch too? And get rid of anything related to sc 2.7?

If you were getting stuck at the Samsung logo, you should get rid of all your old 2.7 files. The 2_7_1 will have everything from the patch plus more, and you obviously were having issues with the older full sc 2.7

My red screen says I have Voodoo v2.5.1.x and that was during the time I was trying the 2.7.

Yes but did you also have the E:missing bit map error messages in white lettering toward the bottom of your screen? If so that is the older version of red cwm. This new CWM_recovery_all does not have those error messages.

This is a stupid question but how do I get rid of the 2.7 patch?

It's not the screen capture that is doing that. In order to do a screen capture you have to hold the back soft key, then press the power button. If you are just pressing the power button to do a screen capture, that means your back soft key is stuck and that is why your screen will not turn off/sleep. Use a clean, soft rag to wipe the whole front of your phone and especially the area on the bottom of your phone where your soft (capacitive) buttons are.

I do have the bitmap errors. I'd like to try again but for some reason my phone will not take my PIN that I set. I've tried many, many combinations in case my fingers slipped when setting the password (twice?) but can't get into my own phone. As if I needed another obstacle.

I assume if I re-flash to 2.6 the password issue will go away and I can do this. I guess I have to do that anyway to remove the 2.7 patch. I'll let you know how it works out.

I flashed 2.7.1 all today over the 2.7 patch w no problems at all but I am using voodoo which seems 2 be advised for 2.7( correct me if I'm wrong) but r ppl only gavin problems w nv or ppl havin probs w voodoo 2 cuz its running flawless for me

+1
I installed over the patch(nv) without any issues but if you're getting stuck def reflash 2.6 or something else. Then re verify that your cwm is correct and then try 2.7.1 again

I keep getting force closes on the gmail app. It wont even let me check my email before force closing. Any reason why?

Quick question...i had 2.6 flashed...and the dummy hotspot kernel flashed as well...i flashed the 2.7 patch and now want to flash sc 2.7...if i do that, i noticed the dummy hotspot kernel is not included, does that mean i will have to reflash the hotspot kernel again separately, or does it stay on my phone once ive flashed it?

On a side note cwm_all used to revert back after flashing another rom but since flashing EB16 kernel(nv) and 2.7.1 its finally sticking

If you mean get rid of as in completely remove from your phone, you have to plug your phone into your computer with debugging on, connect usb, go to wherever you have the 2.7 patch, right click on the file and choose delete.
