[ROM]Superclean 2.8!! *UPDATED*

I'm sorry guys. I'm putting the patch back up. I really don't understand why the switch to Edify is messing things up so badly.

I promise next release will not have this issue.

I feel horrible about all of this.

No worries! I learned a lot about my phone today, including how to restore with Titanium. My phone works as well as it did before so I didn't lose anything, just gained some knowledge. I might know a little more about rooting phones now than the average stay at home mom...

Adrynalyne thanks for all the work! I must say there are couple of roms out there but yours is the best! No need to apologize as we are all learning from this.

PS- can someone update the download link for 2.7.1 rom?

It's Adrynalyne's link, he's the one who took it down, he's the only one who can update it or put it back up and he's not going to do that until he is satisfied it is safe and working. You're just going to have to wait until he does so. He has some experienced people beta testing it now.

Thanks for all your hard work Adrynalyne...no need to feel bad you do a great job...ive flashed a bunch of roms but yours def are the best...excited for when you get 2.7 up and running again

Everyone knows the risks of rooting. You can't possibly do any worse than some of the stuff I've done to the phone. You do good work. Don't sweat it.

Thanks!

YES, it does.

WOW!! I just assumed since the numbers hadn't changed in the "about my phone" section that it was the same old same old. In that case - awesome!

I'm going to go make some fajitas and have a margarita now. I suggest you all do the same.
:D

Its just really frustrating because the problems I am having, shouldn't be problems at all. Its very illogical to me.

It does seem to be with what Clockwork Recovery is being used from what I have done as I was able to install it after using 2.5.1.x from XDA thread posted in previous posts. I however could not use the Odin flash version I had to use the .zip and install it via the CWR I was using.

If anyone has issues / problems with the up / down nature of this version don't worry about it. We decided to root / mess with our phones and if we don't like it we can always go back to stock bloated crapola.

Me myself, I'll stick with playing around. Back things up and have no worries. :)

2.7 is still basically an EB01 build even if you use the EB16 kernel because it is not a true EB16 kernel, it has been modified.

I didn't know about the odin version not working, I also used the zip and it worked great. And it doesn't revert back anymore, at least not with the EB16nv kernel

That right there is reason enough for me to flash the EB16 kernel. Have you flashed another rom since having the EB16 kernel and the new cwm stayed? That was the problem before. Could flash themes, add-ons, patches no problem. As soon as I flashed a rom, say sc 2.6 by itself then booted to recovery, I got stock blue recovery.

Is the EB16 kernel part of the sc 2.7 or do I need to flash it separately? What exactly is the purpose of kernel?

No worries! I'm sure he will get it up when it's rock solid file. Go Adrynalyne!!!:)

Yes I have 2.7.1 lol
When I went from 2.5 to 2.6 I had the stock kernel and it would always revert back. I flashed the EB16 while still on 2.6 not even 2hrs after I did that 2.7.1 came out...flashed 2.7.1 > rebooted> rebooted to recovery from power options....and it went straight to cwm_all, no blue screen

If you were lucky enough to download 2.7 yesterday, then yes I believe it included the EB16 kernel. It is a modified kernel from the Samsung Mesmerize for US Cellular and it may allow users to do wifi tethering without being detected by Verizon. No guarantees though.

I know what I'll be doing when I get home. :D
Wait, no red screen. Don't you mean no blue screen? Or are you booting directly to the new orange cwm?

I have the super clean 2.6. Working great but I still have the stock blue recovery.

You flash it separately. other then the reasons we just listed its suppose to block vzn from tracking if you tether data

I went from 2.6 w/ 2.7 patch to 2.7.1 no problems. I never had the original 2.7 on my phone. I did have to update clockwork to the cwm-all version or I got stuck at the samsung logo. Everything seems to be working correctly at this point.
