Make sure you get rid of the blue screen version prior to going past 2.6 lol

I went from 2.6 w/ 2.7 patch to 2.7.1 no problems. I never had the original 2.7 on my phone. I did have to update clockwork to the cwm-all version or I got stuck at the samsung logo. Everything seems to be working correctly at this point.

What kernel are you using?

I am rocking 2.7.1 with the eb16 voodoo kernel and have had zero issues. I don't have a boot animation, but so far everything is flawless other than that. I have not, however, tried to enable voodoo lag fix. I figure I'll wait until 2.8 comes out (or whatever the next release is) to do that.

First off, I am so new to this stuff, I am just learning how to post comments. 2nd, I want to thank Adrynalyne and all the other guys that stay up to 3 and 4 in the morning working on this stuff!! I flashed 2.4 with no problems and then I waited a while to read the thread again(I hade to catch up on about over 100 pages on info). The bottom line is this is what worked for me.
1. Installed Orange CMW with Rom Manager. That puts the right "update.zip" in the root of the sd card
2. You need to flash CMW all oden tar file with oden.
3. When you are in red cmw, flash the 2.7.1 zip then the eb16 nonvoodoo.zip.
4. After you flash the 2 zips, While in red CMW, run update.zip and you go to Orange CMW.
5. Reboot and wait(It took mine about 5 Min), You will see the honeycomb bootup screen.

Enjoy your new phone.
Edit: I did not clear any cache files.

Up and running 2.7.1. Came from super clean 2.6. So far everything runs good fine.

I have a question regarding the stock messaging app. I'm using S.C. Froyo 2.6. Just about all my contacts have a facebook picture associated with them but in the stock messaging app some of the pictures aren't showing with the contact? Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?

I was wondering about this too. I've noticed that this has been the case since I rooted and have been using SuperClean 2.3+.

Yeah I have tried reboot, etc., I am pretty sure it happened after Super Clean 2.3, not 100% sure though.
I know it was sometime after I went over to Super Clean Froyo.

Well, I found one bug: my widgets don't keep track of the time anymore. They worked earlier today but stopped around 8 p.m. central time. Weird... Hopefully that's fixed in the next release. Rock on, Adrynalyne.

I am using eb16 nonvoodoo. Had it on 2.6, but after I flashed to 2.7.1 I could not get by the samsung logo. I redownloaded 2.6 and installed the cwm-all new version. I then installed 2.7.1, before restarting I installed the eb16 kernel. Now it loaded fine. Before installing any roms I did a devlik/cache wipe.

I noticed that contact pictures do show up when I am using handcent, but I would rather use the stock messaging app.

You can also try clearing your cache and D cache, then reflash your rom
