What is orange CWM, have not seen that one yet.

Is that when you run update.zip from red cwm? <edit> just tried it does nothing but put you into red again.

So red is still version 2.5xxx and Orange is 3.xxx? I thought the red that you go stair into without going to blue was 3.xxx? Man this is so confusing.

Orange is the latest version of cwm, and as far as I know the only way to get it is by clicking the flash clockworkmod recovery button in rom manager. Koush (who developed cwm and rom manager) has made up with jt1134 for now and they worked together to fix rom manager for the fascinate and come up with this orange cwm. Yes, there are two versions of red cwm and both are version 2.5.1.x. The older version has the E:bitmap errors in white text toward the bottom of the screen (they are harmless so ignore them), and the new red cwm looks just like the older red cwm, except it does not have the bitmap error messages. The new orange cwm koush and jt1134 developed is version 3.0 something. Adrynalyne will be converting everything he does over to work with the orange cwm. Been running 2.6 for a couple days now. Found a few more bugs with it. After a phone call, the brightness will sometimes be upped to the max. brightness. I normally have mine as low as it can go, that's how I noticed lol. Also, I normally had zero time without a signal but now I hover around 50% without service. And lastly sometimes the home screen will lag really bad when you swipe side to side but this is fixed by either locking then unlocking the phone or clicking on the home button then clicking it again to go back to the slide screens. Overall awesome though.

Cant tell you why it happened, But I can tell you how I fixed it.

Backed up all contacts with backup assistant.
Deleted all contacts from phone (Not sure if this is really needed)
Deleted facebook account from phone.
reboot
Restored contacts
Open contacts, Menu, select get friends and add facebook account.
Sync facebook.

(Before deleting my contacts, I went to my verizon and exported my contacts
to a file on my PC, just in case)

I managed to nab some iteration of 2.7 before it was pulled, and after flashing the file tnez21 recommended, I was able to get past the boot screen. I am also experiencing significantly poorer battery performance, and so I am going to ODIN back to 2.6.

My question is this: The reason I wanted 2.7 was so that I could install themes that require edify. Has anything changed with 2.6, or am I still going to be unable to install themes until I have 2.7 again?

you can still install themes edify only affects the installation , use red cwm and you will be fine

I havent had any battery issues, i usually unplugg at 0520 and I'm good ALL day till at least 9pm. and thats with good moderate usage.

Anybody having problems keeping certain settings. a couple of programs are losing their settings when I close them or restart the phone. I am wondering if it is the eb16 kendal causing this?

rom manager is an app you can download from the market. I wouldn't even worry about it for the time being. The developer of cwm and rom manager, Koush ignored us for a long time and is just now fixing the known problems our fascinate. There really isn't much of anything you can do in rom manager you can't also do through clockwork mod recovery. a bit curious about the 3g mobile hotspot if i will b hit by verizon to use it im rooted EB16SC26 with steelblue 1.2 looking like a champ i went to the app opened it and i wasnt giving a verizon warning about being charged at all so im curious or should i play it say and get the ADK and the wifi tether for rooted ?

its at your own risk we still have not determined if they will catch you or not, i would wait till the source code is out and custom kernels are out

since there is no source code for froyo i dont think there is one, but then again i dont know what netfilter is lol.... but reguardless there is no custom kernels just custom kernel modules like the the ones with the dummy tether module
