I have been runnin 2.7.1 w no problems at all except for 1... When I recieve a pic msg it is "downloading" forever n I never get 2 c the pic... I kno u could call 2.7.1 an alpha build but it makes me feel special lol so if there is a fix for this that would be cool.. Not sure if its a deal breaker 2 go back to 2.6 tho..

I myself went back to SC 2.6. My concern is that while Adrynalyn is looking into the issues he saw with 2.7.1 he may find something else and or add something that won't apply on top of 2.7.1 cleanly.

For this reason I went back to 2.6 so that when he releases the official 2.7 I will be less likely to run into issues that will make him pull his hair out ;)

true I can always do a nandroid backup of my 2.6. If the new 2.X has issues going over the pulled 2.7.1 I can always go back to 2.6 then load my nandroid backup and flash the new release.

Need some clarification please. When on DL09 I was using Wireless Tether 2.06 app from the market. Now I am on SC 2.6 nonvoodoo and I was reading that we should avoid tethering until the source code comes out so that new kernals could be made. So what is this eb16 kernal w/ dummy tether module for? I noticed in EB01 we now have a tether option in the Wireless&network settings. Is this new eb16 kernal to get that option to work? Or is this for the wireless tether app on the market? Is it save to use and how about the app from the market? Confused!

The EB16 kernel MAY get you around the possible Verizon monitoring of using tethering. Adrynalyne and the other devs are saying tethering is still done at your own risk, they are not guaranteeing the EB16 kernel will work for sure.

Yea i think im going to hang with 2.6 right now i have my phone just how i want it but yall tell me how 2.8 goes.

End of the World Edition installing. *fingers crossed*

Okay, but is the kernel for the Wireless&Network tether option or for the apps available on the market?

I don't use tethering. I have heard everyone asking about wifi tethering and I know the EB16 kernel MAY help in that area.

Thanks Landshark, but you still aren't answering my question. So again if someone can answer the following:

Is the dummy tether kernel for the Wireless&Network tether option or for the tether apps available on the market? or Both?

Horray for 2.8!!!:)

Now on the install with the red and green and purple and all is where I'm still slightly fuzzy. I have the app RomManager v3.0.1.0. How does this affect the color stuff? I just put the zip file on my SD card and then chose "install from from SD card" in the app right?

Gee, sorry for trying to throw some information out there in an attempt to help you in some way. You won't have to worry about me trying to answer any of your questions ever again.
