Seeing the same softkey issue as Landshark posted. I hit the power key to turn the screen off. Hit the power key again to bring the screen back. The softkeys are off. I swipe to unlock and the softkeys are still off. Once I touch one of the softkeys, then they will come on. EB16/SC2.8nv

Very interesting. I'm on sc2.8 voodoo and my soft keys work as expected. When I hit power the soft keys light and remain lit until the screen times out.

It seems like its best practice to do so. I usually wipe my cache/dalvik cache each time I flash a new version.

Yesterday I installed the 2.8 and Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, apps, and all settings worked great. I shut it down overnight, rebooted and all that is still great. I didn't test it for this yesterday but guess what? It makes phone calls, too! I didn't know my droid had a phone feature!

I notice that Launcher Pro is losing my settings when closed/restarted. Just losing things like the "swipe icon" feature, not the actual homescreen layout? I am going to perform a complete data wipe and see if it still happens. Funny thing, before 2.8 I was having a problem with a program called ttorrent, it was losing my settings everytime it closed, but LauncherPro was not, with 2.8 both programs seems to lose settings (with LauncherPro it seems to be the gesture settings). Any ideas?

USB not recognized

I have Superclean 2.6 and I am trying to flash 2.8 but whenever I plug my phone into my computer, it tells "USB Not Recognized". I have reinstalled drivers about 6 times now. I have no clue what's going on. Can anyone help me?

I had a similar issue trying to upgrade to 2.8. None of the ports on my computer would recognize my phone. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and that seemed to solve my problem.

I was just doing some googling and apparently if you unplug your power supply and then plug in your phone it will solve your issue. Give it a go.

Hey I know its somewhere around but I can't find it I put the orange cwm on today how do I use both the orange and red. Like how do I go back to red when I need it?

im running sc 2.6, do i need to perform any wipe of caches before/after flashing sc 2.8?

Adrynalyne has only suggested a cache and dalvik cache wipe for those coming from 2.4 or lower. Otherwise, if you're going from 2.6 to 2.8 or 2.7 to 2.8 or whatever you should be ok to just flash it over.

In general if you are going from a 2.x to a 2.y update you don't need to wipe anything. Adrynalyne suggested a wipe for those on 2.4 and below because he changed a boat load of stuff and merged portions EB16 and EB01 (i'm guessing). When 3.x comes out you will need to wipe.

Nope, no luck. My phone will say it's charging but no USB notifications pop up and my laptop still gives me the "USB not recognized" error.

Two things:

1. will this work if i am coming from a non-rooted ea28 phone.
2. Do i need to be rooted in order to flash a super clean rom or another rom in general?

It is when you can swipe across one of your dock icons to perform an action. Basically, just hold down one of your dock icons, and it will say something like change swipe gesture. Set it to open an application (whatever app you want). You should now be able to swipe to icon to open the app you set. Now open task manger, kill launcher pro, hit home, it will reopen LauncherPro, see if it still launches application when swiping the icon you set. I just did a complete data wipe and reinstalled 2.8, and the problem has went away. Not sure what was causing it?

That's weird. Earlier this morning I had the same dark softkeys. Now they are lighting up when I wake up the phone.

I did a couple of 2.8 flashes so I don't know when the behavior changed.

I was having a FC phone issue but fixed with a cache wipe. now FC with Gmail. what's wrong? Also my battery life stinks. Dropped 40% in 3 hours after a full charge.

I am on SC2.7 Non-Voodoo. When I boot into recovery I go straight into red without the e:\blah blah errors.

Is this the correct CWM for SC2.8 or do I need to converyt to the old one that boots into blue, apply update.zip and go to red with the e:\ errors? If so where is the file and how do I flash/use it?

You are using the correct CWM.

flash this through odin MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

this is the link dxc gave me and it works perfect. it goes straight to red but when you flash a new ROM through red next time your in recovery it will go back to orange. If you want to go back to red again just flash it through odin again
