So, I tried doing this and now my phone won't go past recovery mode.. At first it would just stick on the Samsung logo. I was using DL09 and had Voodoo lagfix running. Now it keeps telling me (whenever I try to restore) that it can't mount sd-ext and that it will skip it. Then it just reboots, and loads restore mode again.

You need to disable voodoo first. You might need to use one of the big odin packages to get back to stock then start over

Been running .7 for about 16 hours and have noticed the following:
When in a call if I pull the phone away from my ear - the brightness settings reset - then I get an odd buzz in the ear piece - duplicated 3 times.
Had to pull and replace my pic folders on the sd card - could see them in the gallery but could not see them in Googletalk.

Those are the only inconveniences I have come across thus far... not deal breakers.

I noticed this too, and the person on the other end of the line could hear the buzzing too. . . strange

I can't get the long press voice search to work. Flashed the search fix and still a no go.

I noticed that the battery icon doesn't refreshed. The system setting>status said 43% battery but the battery icon is close to full. Any one has the issue?

I have not had the battery issue. I flashed the DL_Battery percent and it has been right in line with what is in the settings.

I have noted that the theme developers are going nuts on DL30... I have put up 5 new themes since this morning and doesn't look like it is gonna slow at all.

So i flashed everything successfully the 1st time around but then went i must've flashed something wrong somewhere... i think i tried to apply to power remap mod and that's where it bricked... but anyway i'm back up and running on DL30 but i keep getting "E:can't mount /dev/block/stl11 (no such file or directory)" in CWR anytime i try to clear cache or flash anything else. I tried in green recovery and it says the same thing. I went and tried installing this ROM anyway and it looked like it installed then it froze when i tried to reboot. So I went back to DL09 stock and worked up from there. Still getting "E:can't mount /dev/block/stl11 (no such file or directory)"... any suggestions? I saw a few posts earlier saying to disable lag-fix but i've checked that my voodoo is disabled, and it must be considering i was able to flash NV kernel. Someone please shed some light on this for me, thanks.

Its the noise from the screen turning on. Its Froyo specific, not really rom. Not sure if that is a resolvable issue (even for Samsung).

Thanks for the update, and the feedback. Figured it was a Samsung bug..

Gonna flash .8 and away we go..

Edit: 22 minutes from discovery of new download to fully recovered apps and settings... nice! No issues thus far.

Is the new kernel in .8 optimized for battery life in any way, or are the tweaks just limited to the boot animations?
