I had a weird thing happen tonight. Went to a super bowl party and had 39% battery left. About 30 minutes into the game I pull my phone out to look at it and it is super hot. I look at my battery and it is at 5%. I am not sure what is going on. This happened last night too but it did not get as hot.

I am going to flash .8 tonight and if it happens again, I will flash the full leak. Weird.

are u running a theme. the same thing happened to me and i removed it and it was fine. but i am going back to full dl30 to many force close issues with 1.0. but first i am gonna try .8 agaain. when in car mode i am not able to make calls and i am also not able to do *228 something i was able to do in full dl30

I was running a theme ... maybe that was it. I will run .8 themeless for now. I was able to *228 with no problems on 1.0 though.

Having problems with the display staying on while plugged in the car dock. The display used to stay on and now after using Super Dark Froyo V1 (DL30) theme it wont stay on. Anyone knows the work around this? I cant seem to find any option to keep the display on unless i use a third party car dock apps that has the option.

go to applications>dev>stay awake while charging

This is no longer an option for this in DL30. Looks like you will need an app for that now.

yup not in DL30 so end up going back to stock and removed the theme which is i guess the one conflicting with the car mode.

I'm not sure that a theme will have much of an effect on your battery...

I flashed a new theme and it tanked my battery. What I've been able to figure out was that it locked my phone in "awake" mode, even with the screen off. I rebooted and cleared cache and it improved a lot.

When I reboot, or whenever I turn phone on, I get the Samsung logo, then the Galaxy S logo flashes three or four times before phone finally boots? Anybody else seeing this? Doesn't seem to affect phone operation but not sure if this is hurting hone.

Its hard to know whats caused by DL30 bugs, themes, and roms at this point.

Hopefully we can get it all cleared up.

Can't run 1.0 version. I had issue with holding down power button to bring up the reboot menu. All I had was couple of vibs and just restarted by itself after couple secs of being unresponsive.
Now the problem goes away with 0.9 version.

This has probably been asked but I have been searching around and haven't found a conclusive answer. The alarm clock app... The AOSP one seems to be a little lacking (i think thats what is installed with this ROM, it just shows V 2.2.1) and I installed the touchwiz pack and it didnt come with a stock replacement. I am hoping for a little better alarm clock action; when I first got the phone it had an option called "soft wakeup" where it would play a tune progressively louder leading up to the alarm time. This was the BEST. In the DJ05 and DL09 roms, the alarm had a ton of different tones to choose from. In this version, I get one tone (a super loud, super annoying jingle) with not so much as a volume slider to tone it down a bit (i am, apparently, a light sleeper and the alarm sound is absolutely maddening to both me and my wife. we wake up in a fit of rage...)

So, anyone have recommendations on a free alarm clock replacement for the AOSP one that, (god bless AOSP,) sucks balls? What is the chance I can drop in the app from a stock rom with success?

you can go back to 1.0. if you still have the problem, flash a theme. that will fix it.

kevin is correct. i am downloading it now. im glad you posted. i have always thought the asop desk clock was missing something. i just automaticly assume the stock stuff is inferior to the asop. i should know better, the stock mms is pretty cool, deffinately better than the asop.

What rev is it? I didnt test it yet, i went straight for the froyo build... I swapped DeskClock.apk in the superclean rom, for the ClockPackage.apk in the DL30 froyo leak. It looks like it works so far (it runs at least) i will have to test the actual alarm capabilities once I am done with work.

Edit: this worked great. I have my fade-in alarm back!

i am running sc.8 and the battery life is like what it used to be when i first got my phone. turn on 8am and have 75% at 4:45pm compared to sc 1.0 when i would have it on for 4 hours and lose over 40%. i did some texts and some app installs and some web and tapatalk stuff as well and its not as buggie either
