[ROM]Superclean 2.8!! *UPDATED*

Hey mike,

I installed voodoo on my phone by first installing the non-voodoo 2.4 through odin, then I used CWM to flash JT's EB01 voodoo. I heard the lady android talk, so this means that the lag-fix is enabled right? I don't really know how to check, since this is the first time I have ever rooted/romed my phone. I finally got impatient enough that I am not waiting for verizon and samsung to deliver the OTA update.

Also, I didn't install the voodoo SC 2.4 because I couldn't get CWM red to work on my EA28 stock build, and there was no odin package for a voodoo 2.4.

The main reason that I rooted my phone though was because I thought that voodoo came with some audio fixes that let me use the Wolfson CODEC inside my phone to it's full potential, but I guess I am still screwed by verizon's ineptitude, since there is no EB01 source code yet. :sigh:

Anyways, other then that, I am loving the super clean rom, it is fast! I think I have to fix the battery stats later though, it seems to be draining faster then on the stock build...

Hey Gold the red clockwork that flashed with the odin files did not support voodoo use the directions in this thread
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...clockworkmod-recovery-updated-02-20-11-a.html

download the update.zip put it on your sd card
then use the red clockwork .tar file flash that with odin
then you need to boot into clockwork recovery, go down to voodoo enable lag fix, go back and reboot

This means that the packaged version of CWM works for installing, but not for configuring the voodoo right?

Thanks guys for this awesomeness!

After getting the EA28 update, I decided it had the suck. So I flashed to superclean 2.4 with root, clockwork.

I LOVE IT.

Now, I'm going to learn more about clockwork and more custom roms.

THANKS!! I'm a straight up noob, and was able to get this working with no problems so far on my faschinate. Fantastic work!

Okay the original post was a lot of links and stuff that went over my head. Anyone kind enough to tell me how I get this ROM and kernel? I currently have JT's Superclean and the non-voodoo kernel that runs 2.1. It's been awhile since I flashed the rom and kernel so I don't want to do it wrong. I know it makes me sound nooby but I'd appreciate it :(

Edit: I downloaded the "super_clean_2_4nv.zip", is that all I need? and do I just drag it onto my phone under some folder, open up Clockwork, and flash the ROM? I forgot how to do it. :(

You need to flash to full EB01 package first. Follow this guide:

http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...roms-w-root-new-clockwork-updated-2-15-a.html

First backup your data using Titanium. Second perform a full nandroid backup. Third, Flash this package first (via Odin) "Debloated/Deodexed Froyo Leak+root+Froyo Clockworkmod". Fourth, put the "super_clean_2_4nv.zip" file at the base of your sd card and install via clockwork.

EDIT: That is the more manual method. You could always just flash this packaged version: "Super Clean version 2.4 - EB01 Froyo leak root+Froyo Clockworkmod"

Just wondering if anybody has had an issue trying to update the gmail app through the market with sc.

I forgot how to use Odin. And now I'm more confused. I know you're trying to help. But I definitely have no idea where to start! It seems pretty straight forward, so I'm going to give it a try.

Sorry bout the double post. But it keeps saying that key isn't correct, now when I try to click on the actual update, it says that the the gmail update cannot be found in the market...

Hmm...

Have you tried clearing the Market's cache/data? Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Market > Clear Data/Cache

I have JT's Superclean for 2.1, it's the only ROM I've used, same with the non-voodoo kernel I have. So yeah, I have Odin, but thanks for that link so I can figure out how to use Odin again. :)

The thread I provided earlier has step by step instructions on how to use Odin (for flashing the EB01 package).

You can get Odin from here: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

As for using Odin and all of that stuff, you can find a great tutorial to all of that information right here.

No, she doesn't need to flash the full EB01 stock or deodexed first. You had it right in your edit saying she could just ODIN the package for superclean 2.4. Packerbacker, if you want to follow DroidXcon's method for the all-in-one packages you can do that. Last time I looked he did not have the instructions in his first post to download winrar and use that to extract the packages before you flash them in ODIN. If you want to use the all-in-one method here is the link to download winrar: Thank you for downloading WinRAR (32-bit) from Download.com. If you want to you can also flash the EB01 modem in ODIN and the superclean 2.4 ROM in clockworkmod (cwm.) I can help you with either.
