yes u do but they made it easy just look for how to root u also need cwm

Is there any way to get the car dock audio working? Because when I put the phone in the car dock the phone will charge but the the audio wont work. The music will come out the sleeker.. I know that some. People say that 2.2 is required. But I just was thinking that maybe the is a way a code can be written. For it to work. Or is there a rom that makes it work???

flashing rom

Can someone answer a couple of quick questions? Starting to get the hang of this, but figured I'd ask before I proceed. DroidXcon has helped me out big time. I'm rooted and am going to flash to the supah clean rom. I also have the og sms/mms, aosp lock theme hax, search fix, and nuance (bluetooth fix) zip files installed on my sd card. I also have the og swype on there but I registered at swype and am going to go with the latest version. Can I flash all the roms one right after the other during the same recovery session? And does it matter or make a difference if I reboot to recovery through rom manager or manually? Thanks. I'm planning on going to recovery through rom manager and flashing all of them in one session, but just wanted to make sure I understood everything and was doing this the right way.

Never mind about my last post. I went to cwm through rom manager, flashed all the files one after the other and now my phone is totally SWEEEEEET. Haven't had a chance to fully put it through it's paces yet, but I love not having all the bloat. Now I just need to follow the instructions to load the swype beta, load the og calculator, and all will be right with the world. Thanks Adrynalyne, this is an awesome rom.

thanks thats what i thought i needed to do. i am gonna do that then before i donwload any apps i am gonna flash a new rom and kernel. i am gonna use jts supa clean any good new kernels i should kno about to boost speed.

Edit: if i am running this rom and use launcher pro plus insted. can i delte adw and some apps and install some stock apps like myverizon and the calc. and if i dont have any apps should i still do a back up and all

Two questions:

On my lockscreen, how can I change the volume on/off toggle to vibrate on/off? I usually switch between these two rather than the current setup because I can't keep my volume on during school, but can keep the phone one.

And secondly, how can I get back the messaging chat bubbles?

you can use an app like the widgetlocker to place widgets on the lockscreen.

beautiful widgets has a vibrate on/off toggle widget you can use.

do you use the stock messaging app or one like handcent? either way, the option should be in the settings somewhere ;d

I'm having the same problem as an earlier poster. Long press of the power button does not bring up a menu. It just reboots the phone. I am running Adrynalyne's Test 5 standard voltage nonvoodoo_0118 kernel/supah clean DL09.4. I tried both of the theme fix hax he posted in the DL09 thread, and neither has fixed the problem. Anybody have any solution?

When you have rooted: How flash a ROM

Then you can pick your poison here: List of ROMS/Themes and kernels

It takes some time and patience to do it well and do it right. Even then you may make some mistakes and they are recoverable..

I have read every forum and posting pertinent to my problem at least twice over the past several days, and can not figure out what I am doing wrong. I have rooted the phone, and flashed a voodoo kernel - Quadrant score is 1700+. The phone is running great, but now I want to flash Super Clean ROM, and have met with no success. Here's what happens...

If I reboot into recovery using ROM Manager, I get an abbreviated red menu at the bottom of the screen:

and a blue menu at the top of the screen:

Then using volume down to highlight apply sdcard:update.zip and hitting the home soft key leads me to the green menu. After highlighting and clicking on "install zip from the sdcard" and then "choose zip from sd card" and then "DL09_supah_clean_04.zip" I get the following screen:
