so I flashed 2.6 and the eb16 NV kernel... I know the jump to 2.6 worked but how do I check the kernel?

Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk

when it booted up did you see a cool animation?

oh wait you flashed the kernel by itself,,, when you flashed it did you see the screen bug out

Need some help. Downloaded 2.6 and flashed but nothing looks different minus an option in my Task Manager to monitor battery life. I'm coming from stock 2.1 to SuperClean 2.6. Any help?

EDIT: Oh BTW, this is what I downloaded. Is this wrong?

super_frankenclean_2_6nv.zip

when you booted up did you see xoom boot animation ,, it looks like purple and blue honeycomb sequence

Nope. Stock boot w/ Verizon logo and all.

EDIT again: This was coming from stock kernel and all. Just rooted w/ the basics. ( Root Check, Titanium Backup, etc. )

Sweet. Just one question, what's the difference between the two SuperClean 2.6 Versions at the bottom? Only difference I see is that one says it wipes the data/cache and the other doesn't.

yea, you need the one that wipes data, everytime someone goes from eclair to froyo and doesnt wipe you end up with force close loop,, if you have any more questions reguarding the odin packages please post them in that thread.

Finally got it to work. Got the honeycomb screen and it just now booted. Looks awesome! I thought this one was de-bloated though.

No OE battries

what happens if you do?

From Eclair to Foyo even with out charging you get a warning (on POST) that these batteries are not supported. So what happens, the phone and car dock will not charge the non OE batteries.

You have to carry around the charge plate/brick to charge any and all of your used batteries. Works fine for me, the charger is small enough to fit in a jacket or backpack.

I have not tried long term non OE battery in my car dock for USB audio, to see what happens. I would rather use the 3.5mm in that case. Or swap back to your OE battery for charge and audio.

I show my three batteries to all my iphone friends and laugh. :p

Edit:
To be clear I heeded the warnings and have never tried, short of the first time, to charge the non OE batteries in the car dock or with the wall / PC charger. When I use the non OE batteries I bring the provided charger.

I got the screen bug out when I flashed the rom but not the kernel.

EDIT: Just flashed it again and screen went crazy for a second...does that mean it worked?

Yes, that means it worked. There are a few people testing out the EB16 kernel to see if there are any differences between the EB01 and EB16 kernels other than the ability to do wifi tethering. We should hear results in a day or two.

Was it a bunch of scrambled blue text? That's normal, it happens when the Kernel is being flashed.

Well after ~6.5 hours, I'm at 90% whereas I was at 80% after 5hrs yesterday with minimal usage so it looks like disabling gps helped.

Installed SC 2.6 last night. No more install issues from the Market. Very clean and fast. Might get me using the Fascinate again.

Still in the process of loading apps and getting everything they way I want.
