[ROM]Superclean 2.8!! *UPDATED*

Is it possible to see google maps in 3d with superclean 2.6? If so how?

Are you referring to the 3D imaging that was part of the last Google maps update? If so it only works for a few major cities. Check the Google maps description in the market, it may list the cities. Then you just have to zoom in close enough on one of those cities and the 3D building images will appear.

My battery is draining pretty quickly with this new kernel. Going to use it the rest of the day, charge it to full over night, then see how it does tomorrow. If it's bad, I'll re-flash 2.6. Re-flashing 2.6 should replace the kernel, right?

If you flashed the EB16 kernel, yes, going into recovery and flashing the sc 2.6 file by itself should replace the EB16 kernel with the kernel included in the sc 2.6 ROM.

ok, so i'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong, but i'm in 2.6 bootloop hell. i'm not sure if i forgot a step or what, but any help would be great. i am coming from 2.4 and already had EB01 installed. i go into red cwm wiped cache, dalvik cahce and battstats and then selected install zip from sd. i selected the 2.6v file. It says install is complete. i then reboot and end up in bootloop.

Just an FYI. Since SC 2.0 I had not been able to connect to Ford Sync but with SC 2.6 I am able to connect. Woot!

Thanks Again.

Were you running voodoo before? I am assuming the 2.6v refers to the voodoo version of superclean 2.6. If you weren't running voodoo before on 2.4 you need to download and install the nonvoodoo version of 2.6.

Which kernel is included in the sc2.6 ROM? Was it the dummy tether kernel?

Adrynalyne,

DXC suggested I contact you about this..... I have the VCast Videos subscription, but I can't get it to run now since I jumped up to SC2.4. Any suggestions on how to fix or is this app a casualty from leaving my stock fascinate? Thanks Dave

Yes, the v stands for voodoo and I was running voodoo on 2.4.

Ok, I do not use voodoo but I read a little bit of Gunnermike53's thread on how to Voodoo found here:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...s/55753-how-voodoo-updated-12-feb-2011-a.html

And I have a couple of ideas and questions. In his instructions, Gunner says to do a data wipe, cache, and dalvik. I noticed in your first post you did not mention wiping data, so that is one thing.
The other thing I noticed was after you installed the ROM you did not mention enabling lag fix before you rebooted. As I said I don't use voodoo so I don't know if this step is necessary when going from one voodoo version to another, but it is a step you did not mention and perhaps you need to do that step after a wipe.

Oh and another point/question. At anytime after you rebooted your phone did you hear a female robot-like voice? With a successful installation you should hear that voice. Why don't you try booting to recovery, wiping cache and dalvik again, flash the 2.6v file, then when installation is complete, hit the menu soft key until you are at the main red cwm menu, scroll down to voodoo, hit the power button and see if enable lag fix is available. If so choose that and hit the power button, wait for it to do whatever it is going to do, then hit the menu soft key to get back to the main menu, then choose reboot system now and hit the power button.

Yeah, the first time around i did a data wipe and wiped the rest. I think i forgot to enable lag fix before the reboot. did it again and it worked. thanks so much for your help!

problems with phone and market

since i upgrade to sc 2.6 i have been having problems with my phone service with connectivity and even loss of service ( i can't remember when i even got the 3g icon to appear) as well as market running extremely slow. anyone else having these problems and does any one know how to fix. thanx

I just did the 2.6 update yesterday afternoon. Do I need to do another one for this?

Also, since the update if I open my contacts they do not close with the back arrow.

*** UPDATE - I think I found my answer in this thread. ***

I see there is a patch for Backup Assistant. Do I need to download that and, if so, what do I do with the zip file to run it? My current version on the 2.6 I installed yesterday isn't working - says it cannot find a connection. Sorry if this has been addressed but the 10 or so pages I looked through didn't cover it and I didn't want to go through all 168!
