[ROM] The Eagle Has Landed!!!! - Liberty 1.0 1/11/11

Well battery life improved from what it was when first installed.
That was my only issue with this rom all else works

How did you fix it?

Visual Voice Mail? Please help!

I love this ROM with 1 exception, I need Visual Voice Mail on it! I tried installing from the Market and get "you already have VVM installed on your phone, please uninstall this version". I did find a VVM apk for Liberty but when I install it I lose Swype. I have searched and cannot find an answer. Please help and thanks in advance!

Finally took the plunge. Loving this Rom. A few issues though. I used the Toolbox to add the blur alarm clock and it keeps turning off the alarms byitself. also apps are not updating from the market even though i did the clear data and clear cache workaround. Any ideas?

Market seems to have fixed itself once i changed the wifi sleep policy to never. Still dont know what causing the blur alarm problem. It seems to be once I lock and then unlock it forgets that the alarms are on

You can remove the throttling in Liberty also.

How would one go about doing that?

installed successfully! i feel like i am getting used to this whole installing custom roms, and working in clockwork mod... easier than it sounds... no i just need to set up everything again. hope this liberty is as good as everyone makes it sound!!

use titanium and you won't have to download everything again.

How did you fix it?

Just from clearing out the battery stats thats in the advance settings of CW recovery.
Putting in fully charged battery,making sure its 100% charged is the key.
Letting battery drain totally down (phone shuts off), so it cycles tho a complete charge.
Then recharge and charge anytime you want , worked for me ..
I will charge from now without letting it completley drain down , til next rom flashing ha

Truth. I flashed this without doing a backup. Luckily I made a nand backup of my old stock system, so I made a second nand backup of the new liberty ROM, restored my old stock OS, did a backup on Titanium, restored my Liberty nand and restored all my apps.

Kind of a back and forth process but it worked like a charm.

That was actually the driving motivation behind it. Most apps were saved through the market, but I wanted those levels! lol

Does doing that save the location of where I put all my apps on the homescreens? I really like how I have it set up now and I really dont want to do it again but I want all the angry birds levels back because some of them were really hard haha.

Should i do the wipedata/factory restore before flashing my recovery and vice versa?

Yeah, it does. The backup is basically a snapshot of your current settings. If you use launcher pro you can also backup your order in the preferences. Not sure about adw. I have done restores without wiping data.

And by the way, when you restore be patient if the phone takes a few minutes to reboot.

I got everything back and now have a new backup made of Liberty and Stock. Really liking this Rom. I wish there were easy ways to find themed Icons. Im using the Gingerbread theme and i would really like to have some of my icons match the green on black.

- How can I Set Chomp to be my default SMS. When I select from the notification menu it chooses the default messaging application not Chomp.

1st question. Go into the Liberty Toolbox>Liberty Mods and you'll see the
pulldown editor there.

I'm not sure about your second question. Don't have any experience using 3rd
party messaging apps

I haven't use Chomp but I'll assume it's the same as Handcent. Go to the option in the stock messaging app, uncheck notifications. Go to setting in Chomp, make sure you have notifications active. This should fix it I hope. Sorry I don't know a more detailed explanation than that.

Love this ROM. A couple of things that I would like to see is the ability to customize the number of rows/columns of icons (similar to what Launcher Pro offers), and the ability to add/change the shortcuts, at he bottom, where the phone and browser buttons are (also similar to Launcher Pro). If the ROM had these abilities, I wouldn't need Launcher anymore.
