Loaded MT1.7, everything worked fine. Started tether, and after the second reboot I got inundated with fc's. Fixing permissions now... I'd really like to think this isn't something I've done, and I know it is nothing that y'all put in there intentionally... I wonder if it's some random app I have installed that's conflicting?

I just installed this ROM few weeks ago and it works great! Great job and many thanks Ragnarokx.

Rumor (again) has that Sprint will release Froyo on Feb 21 or 22nd. Will you rebuild your ROM based on that? That would be great as while your ROM is fantastic, there are a few minor bugs that might have been worked out on the new build.

I won't be updating TrulyEpic Rebirth with official Froyo. If official 2.2 does get released soon, I'm going to hang up my chef's hat for the time being. I wouldn't rule out a completely new ROM sometime in the future though.

I've flashed this ROM too many times. Now I'm getting a message: "WiFi Tether could not be installed. Free up some space and try again."

It can't possibly be referring to my SD card, could it? I have 8GB remaining on it. How would I free up internal memory space? I don't have anything installed except Astro and what is baked in this ROM. FTW

I installed mini theme 1.7 and ended up with the galaxy tab email (I thought is was supposed to be stock email).... which I like but hadn't worked in the past..

I haven't had any problems with the galaxy tab email this time around... ya!!!

Try installing it on your internal memory instead of your SD card.

Oh, I assumed you were trying to move the app to your SD card.

If WiFi Tether depends on files on your SD, you may have corrupt data. Try formatting your SD card.

Today I will be doing various testing of the Mini Theme v1.7. I would like to make sure the claims of various FC's isn't related to the theme.

I will be performing various flashings from TER 1.2 to TER 1.5 using both methods. Full version and Clean installing Mini Theme v1.7 after each. I will also do a full scratch and install from Eclair 2.1>Froyo>convert to EXT4/CWM3>TER 1.5 Clean Install w/Mini Theme v1.7 and post my results.

Well buddy, I can't wait to hear what you have found out. I myself did the Froyo on up restart with the same results. Either it will shut the phone down and reboot, occasionally losing some user data, or it will cause Swype and google framework to fc. After fixing permissions and rebooting everything goes to hell in a hand basket and there are so many force closes that I can't even get to menu screen.

All this without having any themes loaded. I'm at a loss... If someone can tell me how to get Nook Color hooked up to the Wireless Tether 2.x found in the market, I will simply put this bed and wait for something more solid. I'm sure this has something to do with a setting or app somewhere in the phone, I just don't have time at the moment to go one-by-one on everything.

That's where my thinking is going. Everything is fine until I try and turn on Wifi Tether. I mean this ROM is rock solid (as you, the dev, already know) it's just this one darn app. I real annoyance imo.

That's a no-go. It downloaded and installed just fine. First try and it froze/rebooted. Second try was a shutdown. Third was a shutdown followed by multiple force closes upon restart.

It will gain SU access, the Yellow wifi icon appears up top, the data transferred info will usually come on in the back ground, and mostly the hotspot activated icon and notification will show. Then just before closes the popup and hands back control to me, it reboots.

Have you ever opened and/or played with the Sprint Hotspot since flashing Froyo for the first time? This has known to cause major problems. If you did change anything in the Hotspot and restored a backup, those changes could be the culprit. If this is the case I would try wiping and installing the Clean Version of TER v1.5 to test.

If you have never opened the Sprint Hotspot on Froyo, then try flashing this zip in Clockwork. It includes the data/settings from my phone. Since I've never had a problem, I'm hoping it will overwrite whatever is causing your problems.

Update on the Mini Theme v1.7

Coming from TER 1.2 with Mini Theme v1.5 installed and doing the full version (auto backup/restore) then installing Mini Theme v1.7 no troubles...

Using TER 1.5 (Clean) when I installed Mini Theme v1.7 after a reboot I got one FC on stock messaging app. I went into CWM and Fix Permissions and all has been fine since. I went threw and opened every app included in TER and also extras I've downloaded and only that one incident.

I never tried the Eclair>Froyo>EXT4/CWM3>TER 1.5 because I felt after the first two tests this wouldn't really change things.

I will look further into this as I plan on releasing an update to the Mini Theme sometime in the near future. One of the included apps in the theme to change the icons maybe corrupting things, I'm not positive. Seems like the Fix Permissions in CWM resolves the issue.

Sorry for any inconveniences this has caused... Trial and error... Thats the way it goes sometimes..
