[ROM] TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 AC - no planned EB13 update :'(

You need to enable the root explorer feature in ES. Go to: Menu>Settings>Root options and check both boxes. When it asks you which ROM you're on, choose Cyanogen. This will allow you to copy apk files with executible permissions.

I knew it had to be something I was doing. Working now ,thanks

I was wondering if there was a reason the maximum open tabs that you can use in the default browser was decreased to 4 in TER 1.5?

I've been searching around for a little bit and I can't find a way to get it back to what it was in TER 1.2 (I think it was 8 open tabs, but I don't quite remember)

I've got a quick question. I can download an app and move it to the sdcard, but whenever I check to see how much space I have left on the phone, the amount is the same as before I moved the app to the sd. My card is unpartitioned. Is this strange? Also, how can I get the power button to put the phone to sleep during a call. Yesterday, the option was under acessability, but today it's gone and the calls end when I press power. Running TER 1.5.

Big thanks to ragnarokx and all the community, I was able to move from stock eclaire to TER 1.5 with relative ease.

We reverted back to the stock browser in TER 1.5.

PDANet - Wireless Tethering

I have the paid version of PDANet 2.45 and used it all the time in TER1.2. Using the usb cable, I connect to the Internet with ease. From what I understand, PDANet is similar to the Sprint Hot Spot feature.
However, once I installed TER 1.5 it hasn't worked since. I turn on PDANet as usual, allow usb tethering, and then connect to the laptop. I get a notice that its connecting to the data net and it doesn't actually connect.
With Wireless Tethering in 1.5 and being unfamiliar with it I thought it was the problem. I uninstalled it. Stupid me didn't ask here first.
With WT uninstalled, PDANet still doesn't work.
Now I don't know what to do. I don't really understand WT well enough to know if it was the problem. Even if it was, I still can't connect, so I'm unsure if TER 1.5 has a problem with PDANet.
I guess I need help in primarily fixing my PDANet, and then in understanding Wireless Tethering and Sprint Hot Spots and which helps me connect to the 'net via the phones connection.
I appreciate the help.

I'm not familiar with PDANet, but to get you up and moving you can go here [How To] Wireless Tethering for Root Users until you get your issue with PDANet resolved. Download the older version(s) listed there, I use them still with TER 1.5 so I know they will work together.

TheocratIssak, I just tested my paid pdanet without any problems. After seeing your post I realized that was one I hadn't checked yet. Just turned on USB debugging, connected the cable, fired up PDANnet, then the laptop pdanet client. no issues that I can see, using it now to type this. I'm running TER 1.5.

Boot back into ClockWorkMod recovery (volume down+camera+power) and wipe 3x and reflash the TER ROM.

I'm not sure if this problem has anything to do with TER or not, but I didn't have this problem until I flashed the ROM. On to the problem...

I am having trouble connecting my Epic to the wifi at the hotel I am staying at. The internet is not free at this hotel, so when I first run the browser after connecting to the wifi I am automatically directed to a page where I have to sign in with my room number to access the internet. I'm not sure what this process is called, so I'm having trouble searching for it on the forums. Anyway, for several weeks I did not have any problems. Now I sign in, and the internet will work for a minute or two, and then my phone will lose internet access. I'm still connected to the wifi, but websites time out and don't load. Sometimes I am able to reload the sign-in page for the wifi, other times that doesn't even work. I am able to connect my laptop to the hotel wifi and sign in and surf without any problem, the problems only happen on my phone. I've tried clearing the browsers cache, cookies, history, everything. I even downloaded firefox and to see if a different browser would work, but the same thing happens. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Two notes, ES File Explorer has given me a reason to uninstall ASTRO, I was never fond of it and having ES provided as a "suggestion" in the /sdcard/app is very much appreciated.

Secondly, AppWidgetPicker is awesome but will FC if you don't put it in /system/app using ES File Explorer. If you tried to install it without doing so you need to uninstall it first (and maybe reboot) before reinstalling.

Also, as previously mentioned, you will need to enable the "root" features of ES File Explorer in the settings to copy from /sdcard/app to /system/app.

Thanks.

It's called a splash/landing page, like what they often have on public wifi.

Tried toggling Airplane Mode? Try rebooting? Try fixing permissions via CWM? Try toggling/adjusting the Wifi Sleep Policy under Advanced Wifi (press menu on Wifi Settings screen), it should be 'never'.

If all else fails, swallow your pride and try TER v1.5 clean-install.

Do not restore settings on top of TER.

Has anyone had trouble SENDING mms? I try sending on but they don't get them until hours later. like 3 or 4.

Excellent Rom!

Just wanted to pile on the praise for another great version of TrulyEpic! I did the update from TER 1.2 to 1.5 and had very little difficulty in the process. I've managed to get all my normal market apps & the Sprint/Samsung apps reconfugred to work perfectly.

Great job on delivering a speedy new ROM that all EPIC owners should at least try!

Two questions I had:
1) I performed a Nandroid backup in CW3 just before the update to TER 1.5 but I can't find it anywhere in the menu under CW3 using 'Backup and Restore.' Is there someplace else this backup may have been stored. I only see an older backup I made from 1-17-2011 (just after I configured TER 1.2).

2) Quadrant scores look great for this ROM - I get near 1698 almost every time. However, SmartBench 2010 crashes every time I run it now. I've tried re-installs and 'fix permissions' from CW3 but it still will not get past 'calculating pie' and move on to the graphic tests. It worked fine under TER 1.2. Can anyone else get this to work on TER 1.5 so I know it's not just my setup? Thanks in advance. NOTE: It's free from the Market.
