[ROM] TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 AC - no planned EB13 update :'(

I have now my phone with Eb13 rooted and TER v1.5(files EXT4) and the lastest theme 1.8 thanks to Rag and Paul.

First off read the thread [Root Samsung Epic 4G official Froyo EB13 w/optional EXT4]. Then read the other Thread [TruelyEpic Rebirth V1.5 AC no planned EB13 update]
:) Tomy2001

i was under the impression that TER would only work with DK28? Is the info on how to get it working on EB13 listed in that thread? how do you like it so far? how is the battery life?

I didn't think you could flash TER over EB13, but I'm not the expert!

I am not either. However I did I have EB13 rooted and TER v1.5 and TER Mini Theme v1.8 final. Paul is working on another Rom. "ACE". ACE will be ready within a few days :)

I do not know.I just flashed TER on EB13. I love it.:D

Yeah just download the zip, transfer it to the SD card, and flash in CWM3. Probably a good idea to do a nandroid backup first, just in case.

Well, I flashed genocide and as expected, a bunch of FC's on reboot. Even after trying fixing permissions. Restoring now in CW3

Interesting. I restored in CW3 and noticed that Angry Birds did not show it's icon in the APP launcher. Went to marketplace and it shows installed. I never moved it to the SD card. Any way to get the icons back? I also noticed that Pocket Legends did not restore at all so I redownloaded it.

Any ideas?

I'd try uninstalling the problem apps, downloading/installing them from the Market, and then doing a Advanced restore>Data only in CWM3.

That is next. Just did not know if anyone else had seen this with CW3 restore.

Thanks.

Is there a way to add the ability for the charging docks auxiliary out to actually work? Its very aggrevating for the epic's accessories to not work!

so TER DOES work with eb13?? i dont want to go through flashing back and forth and risking loosing my settings to have it not work.

so far have TER 1.5 with theme 1.8 working with EB13 EXT, actually with much less lag. My only question is, can i get the stock lockscreen back in any way? i find it more advanced and convenient. the button like lock which you can toggle right to your missed calls, msgs or just unlock

maybe it's because i'm using a gingerbread icons pack, but i dont see TER's icons

also just in case people are wondering, GPS is working better than before i flashed the ROM actually. and the overlayed choppy boot animation is gone

TER 1.5 is awesome, not bothering with EB13. I upgraded a colleagues Epic to EB13 yesterday. Works fine but mine is better and the gingerbread keyboard works far better than any Android keyboard I've tried. At first I thought the keys were on the small side but it is dead on accurate!!! Give it a try!

Agreed. I was waiting around to read reviews on EB13 but so far I see nothing that makes me abandon TER.

Well, I may jump to EB13 if TER and mini theme 1.8 work. I am having some bluetooth skipping issues when listening to music. From what I read EB13 improved BT and GPS.

First off let me say BRAVO on this rom, clean and fast. Now my question is why after installing v1.5 my phone is constantly trying to sync with Google? Is there any way to stop this? Because its eating up my RAM and battery. Thanks for the great work!

How important is EB13, really? I thought the reason we were waiting for the kernal release is without it dev's couldn't do things like CPU and battery tweaks. But then I noticed some of the ROM's have custom kernals. And isn't EB13 based on DK28, the same one the devs worked from?

Here's what I'm thinking now: Samsung dev's are HOPELESSLY inept, so whatever tweaks EB13 allows, they will be inferior to a custom kernal an independent dev comes up with, and anything Samsung made out of DK28 will be inferior to everything the independent dev's made out of it.

Is this a reasonable assumption? Or was Samsung able to do something with EB13 that the dev community was waiting for, and now EB13 based ROM's will be the best?

Regardless of whatever the story behind it all is, Froyo EB13 is the official build and has the source code to go with it. I personally would of liked to see DK28 go forward but it didn't happen. EB13 will have to do, we don't have any other choice unless Sammy eventually releases Gingerbread for us Epic owners but I'm not holding my breath on that just yet.

When I'm on Wifi-Tether and I get an incoming call, my phone shuts down completely. Anyone else having this problem? I did the Wifi fix mentioned on post #1 but to no avail.

It's kind of an on-going theme according to the dev's bug list. Go with the green iconed "Wireless Tether". No, that one doesn't support infrastruture mode for peripheral devices, but it'll get your laptop connected. If you are trying to get such devices connected, look for hacks specific to those devices for getting them on adhoc networks. I broke down and went this route to get my Nook Color connected. Hope this helps.
