Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

Let me start by saying great r
om, I think YOUR MOM ROM is
the fasted of the GB roms. I'm having one problem though
every time I try to calibrate the HTC_IME keyboards it fc on me.

I have not seen any other post about this.Is any body having the same
problem or is it just my phone?

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

I'm jumping aboard the Your Mom train as we speak. I'm stoked to get the toggles back in the pulldown.
I'll post my thoughts after I have a chance to play with Your Mom.

Team Hydro,

Quick question:

After reading Post # 3, what stands out to me is the following line:

'...This is a slightly modded copy of data2ext from this thread. It has been edited to be more compatible with Your Mom ROM. This script itself is the virtually the same as the modified one from the link above.

The differences are:

-dalvik-cache is automatically moved back from /cache to /data (fixes market download issues some users experience)

-When enabling this script, there are no longer any errors about "no modules found"...
'

However towards the end of Post # 3 I see this:

'...If you would like to enable the dalvik2cache mod included in Your Mom ROM, make sure DATA2EXT is disabled first and boot to recovery, wipe dalvik and cache, then flash this:
dalvik2cache-mod-restore_YourMomROM.zip...
'

What does enabling this 'dalvik2cache mod' actually do? Why would we want this?

Do we get more space with this, if we are NOT enabling Data2EXT?

Thanks!

BJ

This Rom, by default, has the dalvik to cache mod enabled. What this does is frees up more internal space. Somewhere around 50 to 60 mb.

If you choose to use the data2ext mod, it will disable the dalvik to cache mod. The instructions at the bottom of that post is for those that wish to no longer use data2ext and would like to enable dalvik to cache once again.

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

I restored previous ROM and went through all the steps before flashing MOM ROM a second time and now it's working like a charm.

Great work.

I didn't do anything different second time around except that I made sure I was in a good reception area to login to Google services. After that I switched to WiFi and updated everything.

Sometimes my screen takes a number of button presses to wake up from sleeping but it's been like that before the ZVH upgrade so it's probably my phone.

Like this ROM so far. Do wish we could get Retouched theme on this ROM. The white notification color is bland, want some color. Maybe even a stock GB green color as an option.

Anyone had any luck changing lcd density on your mom?

The LG launcher/homescreen does not support changing the density. You would have to install an alternative launcher/homescreen, such as GO Launcher or ADW, to achieve this.

Quick question, does the ap2sd zip for your mom alpha also work on v1.0? Also, is there a fix for the fc's on the calibration of HTC_emi keyboard?

Yes the data2ext file will work. I will upload a fix for the keyboard calibration later this evening. We forgot to include that file.

I have noticed the screen issues are back with this new release. The alpha with version 7 of GingerKernel seems to have been the sweet spot. It may just be that v7.1 of the kernel broke the fix for the screen issues. I'm switching back to GingerKernel v7 and I'll report back with my findings.

UPDATE: v7.0 of GingerKernel seems to have fixed the issues. I guess my phone doesn't like v7.1. YMMV.

I have had zero screen issues with this release. I've had 2 random reboot when watching videos on YouTube, and 1 while tesxtng. Those are the only bugs to report.

Yes, I also noticed that after installing v1.0 of this ROM, the touble-tap screen issue is back. Which is strange, because flashing GingerKernel 7.1 on gROM fixed the issue but seems to not do the same with this ROM. I was getting SD card issues with v7.0 of the kernel on gROM, so going to 7.0 may not work for me on this ROM. Not a big deal - I've always felt the double-tap issue to be minor, as it mostly appears when entering my PIN to unlock the phone - not so much when I'm composing messages.

There's two separate screen issues, and you haven't made it clear which of them you are experiencing.

1) Screen garble. This should be fixed for good.

2) Double-tap. This was never fixed and nobody ever said it was. I still can't determine what is causing this, and it is also happening somewhat on another LG device's ROM that I ported to the Optimus S. Either it's a deep internal issue with the kernel, or LG effed up the Gingerbread software on their phones

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

Is there any advantage to ZVH/your mom compared to ZVD/Reborn? (other than the fact that it is no longer supported)

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

Does this ROM include EAS bypass (bypass Exchange administrator)? The Exchange server I connect to forces the use of a PIN to unlock, and all of the past ROMs I have used (Reborn, etc.) have included EAS bypass. GRom apparently doesn't, and I'm not sure about OptiROM.

UPDATE: Your Mom ROM does not include EAS Bypass. Is there a possibility that it could be added in an update?

Thanks
