Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

battery life?

So far using GB with Your Moms Rom I am getting much better battery time. I am not sure of hard core numbers but it feels like standby time even with WiFi on is double what I was getting. I often don't use my phone that much on weekends and it is dead by Monday easy, however with the new ROM and kernel using the performance setting on SetCPU it lasted the whole weekend with like 30% left Monday morning.

Mark

PS I am quite sure that this is a combination of the ROM and Drew's Kernel, I know that the SetCPU settings can have a drastic effect on battery usage.

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

I'm getting the following errors on data2ext --enable command. I believe I've followed all directions correctly:
basename: not found
[: not found
[: not found

Google's not helping much. Any thoughts?

Figured out which step I missed. Edited away.

What gives? -- I don't know!

You have several possibilities as to why your sd card is empty or better yet, probably just not mounted.

1. It is NOT the Rom itself that is causing your issues

2. You are using GingerKernel v7.0, which had sd card mounting issues. Please download and flash the latest v8.0 from here -- http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...erkernel-v08-oc-double-tapping-bug-fixed.html

3. Are you using the data2ext mod in post #3? If so, please reread the warning at the top of that section regarding possible sd card damage that can be caused while using that mod.

4. Your sd card has gone bad, either from the reference above or because they do go bad after while.

5. Your sd card port on the phone is going/has gone bad or is dirty.

First thing I would do is flash GingerKernel v8.0 and reboot. If no luck there, then I would turn the phone completely off, remove the sd card, blow out the port a little bit (maybe with a can of air) and then reinsert and reboot. If that does not work, I would try to mount the card to your pc (directly using a sd card adapter) and see if your contents are still on the card. If not, try to put something on there and put back into the phone and reboot to see if it will read it.

These are all just suggestions for things to try. I'm not sure what exactly the issue is, but honestly the RoM itself would not cause sd card failure in general.

Keep us posted please.

so this rom comes with the ad blocking built in?
so downloading the app would be redundant?

should i just delete said app as i already downloaded it? haha

Thanks for the pointers
I believe my sd card is kaput. it does mount on my pc but most if my files are gone and when i try to copy anything onto the card the pc system just hangs.
I haven't used to data2ext in post #3.
Even reformatting card doesn't work. My pc just says cannot format card.
Guess I might have to get a new card.
Thanks again

Yes, the hosts file is currently included but after further consideration, it will be removed in the next release of Your Mom ROM.

It is in fact important for us to support any developer who may actually make money doing what they do. Their time is worth it.

To any dev who was potentially affected by me including the hosts file in this last release..... I apologize!

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

I just want to say a big thank you to all the developers involved. In my experience, this is easily the best rom for this device yet. With gingerkernal 8, it's incedibly snappy and responsive. Thanks again!

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

Ok I plan on installing this rom, but I dont not like the color layouts so I already cooked a new theme for it but my question is for the drop down in the noticifation bar I also want to change the order of the widgets and possibly change which ones are there, are they located in the /system/customize file or somewhere else?

Good luck. Ur gonna have to fight those power controls or have none at all. Jstntp took tons of personal time getting that to work. We dont plan on changing the controls or the order. THIS IS NOT CUSTOMIZABLE LIKE IN REBORN. Im sure its possible but i dont have the time. But im sure u can figure it out.

This port of the mod is not customizable like that unfortunately. What you see is what you get with this one....... for now anyway.

So, putting a theme on will crush the power bar menu?

If you flash any themes from my GB theme thread it WILL eliminate the power controls in the drop down.

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

Since this rom is based off official Sprint sources, can we use the PRL and profile update features?

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

I've heard about so many people using your mom and enjoying it that I just had to try for myself. This is great, many thanks! I've been itching to try a new ROM on the optimus in the house.
