Not to mention to all of you... YOUR SD CARDS ARE GOING THRU TONS OF UN-NEEDED WEAR AND TEAR! Reading and writing that much info all the time is going to kill your SD cards MUCH faster.... just sayin...

Troubleshooting someones faulty SD card is much more than a headache...

This will not be supported in any of the future builds. You can do what you want from there to achieve this.

I didn't want to talk about your mom, so I posted a question in a different thread. jondevere, if you have any details, i'd love your input. thx. :)

(I agree with your stance 100% and would also like to have people be able to use data2ext.)

I just upgraded to 1.1 and it's working great! Thanks for all the hard work you guys are putting in on this! :D

Make sure you flash the kernal too. Drews latest and greatest is not included, see the OP for the links and reasoning.

new mod is great.

make SURE you clear all caches before flashing, or no boot for you.

now all it needs is DSP manager and a theme chooser and its basically CM7, but better.

Yep. Also, if you clear data AFTER flashing the reboot mod, you will get a bootloop. It makes absolutely no sense at all, but it is what it is.

That's also the reason we couldn't include the reboot mod in the ROM directly. It simply does not boot with a data wipe/fresh flash, which also means you need to let Your Mom ROM fully boot once before flashing the reboot mod.

We're looking into the matter heavily (I've produced about 20 test builds trying to get it to work) but it's likely that the reboot mod will remain a secondary flashable mod.

[WARN]
DATA2EXT

Ok here's the deal:

I don't like the data2ext mod in general and I'm not the only dev that feels this way. It is an unstable mod that I never really wanted to support in the first place. That is why it is not included in the Rom itself.

This mod has been removed from this thread and will no longer be supported.

From this point on, if you choose to use a form of data2ext or apps2sd or anything similar, please don't post problems about it here until you have removed the mod and duplicated the issue while running this Rom in its native form.

Sorry and Thank You.

Justin, and other devs,

While I am not surprised that there are mods that are risky to use, I was a bit surprised to really get the feelings you have about this particular mod. When I started using data2ext I really thought "what the hell I don't have anything that important on my phone". While this attitude is fine if you want to experiment with your phone I think it is important for many that are complaining about the removal of support, both real support and spiritual for the mod, to understand that there is really two levels of modding out there. The first is the true experimenters, the ones that dont care if they brick their phone and in fact have fun trying to repair it. The other level is those that do not want to be part of the "I want to be one with the carrier" hoard, they just want to customize their phone in order have something unique. The important thing to note though is that many of these people that want a custom phone also want a STABLE phone. I appreciate that and understand, that as a developer of ROMs , you are shooting for that stability. In supporting mods like data2ext that could reduce the stability of the rom you are developing you are taking time away from improving the stability of the ROM itself.

Thank you for all your work and efforts in producing a superior and truly stable ROM.

Mark

PS there is one less person using data2ext now :)

ok so just to make sure, i used the stock alarm clock flash, the stock right clock flash, and the no iq flash, if i wanna flash the new one, i have to get rid of the stock right clock correct? because it'll override the no iq. but how do i get rid of the right stock clock if i already have it in there? so i dont break anything

Just flash the new mod, it will remove everything else. Just don't use any of those others after apply this mod. Enjoy. Make sure you wipe caches.

so using the stock alarm clock will break something? after the flash of the new mod?

edit: so i flashed the new mod, and i still have the clock on the right and i still have the stock alarm clock... i thought the new mod was supposed to remove them?

The alarm clock file makes no difference. So you have the clock on the right side still? Interesting, did you wipe all caches? Do you have the reboot mod in the power button menu?

Edit:

Ok, you guys ready for this??

This is the part where everyone can laugh at me a bit. It would appear that during many hours drew and I have spent working on these mods, I fried my brain a bit!!

The normal clock and center clock zip files are fine. They will NOT break anything. Long story short, the new mod does not touch the file that houses the clock. Lol, I just flat out wasn't thinking.

The only old file which WILL break the new mod, is the old noIQ agent zip. Throw that one away if you have it. This is why you still have the clock on the right side, and everything else should be working good for you.

Sorry for the confusion everyone, I will post back those two files that mod the clock in the statusbar later.

Once again do not use the old noIQ file, that's it.

yea, so basically prior to the reboot/recovery mod i had stock alarm, no-iq, and clock on the right
i went into recovery backed up and wiped cache and dalvik cache and installed the rebot/recovery mod

it booted up fine and yes i have reboot and recovery in the power button menu, and now i have crt transition back too, and the ics animations are there as well but only when i use the regular home launcher but not when i use golauncher ex but no biggie

but i still have the clock in the notification bar on the right and the toggles in the pull down bar are still blurry

See my edited post above yours. And I forgot about the blurry icons too, will fix that later. Sorry about that. Lol

That's strange. When I try to boot in to recovery via ADB I am often unable to do so (it just reboots like you describe), so I figured perhaps I may be a good candidate for experiencing the issue that you are having. However, mine is working perfectly. Selecting reboot reboots the phone and selecting recovery boots in to recovery just as advertised.

I think that either Justin or Drew have responded to this before and noted that this is a ZVH related issue. Not sure if it is something Drew fixed in the kernel or not but I clearly remember this issue as I had it after installing 0.7 of Your Mom. It has since disappeared.

i dunno, when i hit reboot, my phone reboots, when i hit recovery it just reboots as well.
