Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

I'm loving this rom so far thanks everyone involved in making it what it is. Smooth and fast

I'm having one minor problem: I leave my wifi on and so it turns on and off with the screen (usually connects to WEP wifi's if it matters). Like once a day or two days it will connect but won't show any bars of reception. I can use facebook or use the browser but my gmail won't update...i'm guessing bc it doesn't think there is a signal. I have to reset the phone to get the bars of wifi back at which point everything is back to normal.

It may actually be my fault though because I foolishly titanium backup recovered "wifi access points" from reborn to this rom bc i wanted all the saved ones to transfer over but immediately thought how unnecessary that was

You can download a app called wifi lock that should always keep u connected

hmm thanks i'll check it out but i actually like how it turns on and off to save batteries. i just don't know why how sometimes when it connects it doesn't show it is...

Actually turning it off and on multiple times due to screen off/on status kills battery life. In Wi-Fi settings, press the Menu key and choose Advanced. Then change Wi-Fi sleep policy as appropriate. I keep it on "always on" and manually turn Wi-Fi off whenever I leave my house.

As do I.

really? wow, i had no idea. i assumed that this was something the dev's developed a while back to help battery life.

well now that i think about it, you do mean like constant on and off in a certain period of time right? wifi in general being on DOES drain more battery, no? if so i guess i'll just have to make sure to manually turn it off if i won't be using it for an extended period.

Actually, often it quite the opposite. For example, I get better batter life at my house where my WiFi is on 100% of the time I'm there. If I run my 3g signal at home, my battery drains faster.

The battery life on this om is out of sight. Best ever.

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

since im coming from Reborn rom, what steps do i need to take to install this rom? (looking to make the switch soon)

I tried this rom but when ever I enabled data2ext all I would get is fc's on all apps. I went back to reborn again. Plus I did not like the drop down in the notification bar, they looked all blurred. If opti-rom got them then I would be happy. Cause then at least I could change the color styles.

Always happy to help, hit that thanks button if I did

Not sure what went wrong with your data2ext, plenty of people including myself have enabled it without mentioning errors like yours.

Just curious, why would you be able to change color styles with another Rom and not this one?

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

Will there be themes available that do not break the notification pull down?

New to your mom rom , coming from Optirom.

One thing I am wondering about on restore for Titanium backup.
It seems when restoring some of the apps they are not restoring and sticks on restore, does not matter if it is single or batch restore.
I know the best way it to load it fresh and just load data if needed, but this is troubling.
Mostly happens on larger apps like peggle or plants vs zombies.
Right now it is stuck on restoring google voice.

I do run data2sd
Any help would be great

My advice is this. Wipe everything clean and reflash the Rom fresh. Do not enable data2sd and try restoring your apps. If still no luck, then yes, a fresh install of each app from the market will be needed. I personally really don't recommend any data2ext or data2sd mods. They can be unstable and cause all sorts of issues. Also not healthy for your SD card at all.

Anyway, try to run this Rom the way it was designed to run first and then play with other mods. That's what I recommend.

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

yes it was a fresh wipe.
app addicts like me need the room.
will probably do fresh installs and just transfer data.

Re: [RoM] YOUR-MOM-ROM v.1.0 - Updated 11/14/11

Yes there will be. The plate is a bit full ATM with other projects but I would like to get some available when time permits.

I figured... that's why I didn't pursue my asking earlier...

You didn't go stand in line for some ungodly length of time to save $50 bucks did you?
