Rumor authorized Verizon retailors to get bionic 08/12

My take on the release date:

The phone will be out one year after the photon is released, give or take a few months. Hear me out. The Evo 4g was released in June 2010; the Thunderbolt March 2011. Nearly a year apart! The Epic 4g was released August 2010; the unnamed samsung 4glte single-core slider is rumored to be out nearly a year later!!!!!!!

ALL, the Bionic will be here no later than Aug 11th. Waaaaaaay to many signs show aug 4th release. The i*hone 5 will be out in september and Motorola knows it will be stupid to delay for a sept launch. Plus, the FCC had an Aug 4th exp date for the Bionic. So everything is going to be ok..... Now just waiting for DroidLanding's Tweets!!

That's what I'm worried about. I finally got to see a Droid 3, Charge, and X2 all next to one another and the screen on the X2 is pretty poor compared to the other two, while both look bland compared to the Super AMOLED+ screen on the Charge. I'm hoping the screen is better than that of the X2...

ship you are not being realistic here. The Bionic is akin to Sprints Photon. Neither one is "better" than the other. They are both great phones. One doesn't warrant any special attention over the other. Do you know how ridiculous that would be? It makes no sense. Unless the Bionic is a complete departure from the Photon I could see your point but it's not.

Secondly I like the new Blur. I think it runs fantastic on the Droid 3. Gingerbread just may have solved the lagginess issue I had with it. It has it's issues with speed at times but the new Blur is a HUGE improvement.

You two were flirting on the edge with something I wanted to mention. Now motto will never admit that the photon is the og bionic, but it has to be. The two big phones they rocked were the atrix and bionic at ces. They scrapped the bionic and gave it to sprint. Now they know they need to step it up for the new bionic to save face. The processor alone is a huge change to the phones ecosystem. To say the photon and the bionic are akin to each other isn't quite right. I'm not saying the bionic is better yet because of lack of info still but with what we have seen it should be a different beast. And the special attention definitely warranted. Motto and verizon has to make up for its huge fail. Whether its a marketing trick or not, they know people are watching intently. While we are a tiny fraction of the android community, the financial and tech world is watching. They will be the ones to spread the success or failure to investos, customers, etc. How would vzw and motto feel when consumers report comes out and calls this phone out for fail? The economy is looking pretty nasty right now and what company wants to be seen as struggling in any way. Vzw can shrug it off, but motto mobility won't be so lucky.

Also, weve been concentrating so hard on the phone itself, has anyone thought to lookup and see if the web top lap dock wheel chock has shown up in inventories or release dates. That tech probably will be identical to atts minus the connections and I don't see why motto would be so secretive of it. Being a main accessory it should be out release day too.

Did not know that. Makes sense though. I wonder if they have been shooting for august 4 for some time and thats why they put 8/7 with the FCC. Maybe the 9/1 date is the back up date in case they have to make additional software tweeks.

I have to disagree....the Bionic definitely hasn't lost its momentum. Last time I checked there still isn't a dual core LTE device on the market. The SGS2 hardly hurt this phone. There is literally no evidence that the function will even be an LTE phone when it lands and with Sammys lawsuits with apple.....I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting on its arrival. If anything, samsung missed their chance at killing the bionic, after all the SGS2 has been out for months.

I just spoke with a very good friend of mine who is over 8 Verizon retail store not corp stores. I asked him about the bionic release to them. He said his sheet says 08/12. If that is true then that would support the 08/04 release to corp stores because retailors usually get it two weeks later. how true this is I don't know. He is calling me back about something else and i am going to try and get more solid information from him. If i get anything i will update.

Why would I want to buy this phone as a new adapter when I purchased the D2G and a Xoom and both still do not work correctly and they have not kept there deal to get me my 4G and SD card operational to date.
