I think Samsung is making it clear the note is going away. It's being moved to the S series, maybe the S Pro, who knows.
I can address the battery as I have the fold 2, the battery is not a issue for me with the fold 2, I think it even performs better then my note 20U battery, I've gotten 18 hours out of it, with 6 hours screen time. I don't have to plug it in anymore then my note 20U. Your not buying a fold completely for the technology, you're buying it for the fold. As he said, when the note series was released, it was the wow, look at this, big screen, Spen. Now it's the folding. The note or S series wasn't perfect either when released, but at least Samsung is making great strides in each model. The Spen on the fold is not ideal, horrible idea from my standpoint, I said the same on the S 21 Spen, disaster. The Spen needs to go inside the phone, but lately Samsung has been following apple in this area and going the make it accessory and charge for it.
As far as pricing..the price went down this year and will continue to do so as popularity grows. I remember the notes, the 512 version was $1,500. You're paying $1800 for a 512 version of the fold. Not that far off for the new technology of folding. The note was high priced for it's time of launch also for those times. Right now we are paying for the fold technology, everything else will get better. I hope they never get that 100X zoom, I don't want the phone bigger for that feature. If you're buying a phone for a camera, now probably isn't the time for the fold, if you're worried about 4 megapixel inside camera, well you ain't getting anything better on the fold. I myself think thats plenty for conference calls and selfies..if I had my way there would be none there, but that's me. The back camera works good enough for me. I, myself look forward to the growth of the fold and will be glad to say I was there with them from the fold 2 days, just like I did on the note.
As flossy says...you have to pay to play. New technology isn't for everyone.
