This stinks. Jan 17th if that's pre order date too that means around week of Jan 31st we get them. Of course once again I might be phone blocked :) I mean I've had delays due to shipping, hurricanes a number of times as well, and now because my mom died 4 days before Christmas we're having the church service, burial and celebration of life Jan 30th and 31st. Hopefully it comes on a Thur then or else yet another delay for me.

I have bad luck with S series and Note pre orders and shipping!
Oh no! Truly, truly sorry for the loss of your Mom.
😔

just posted 3 hours ago:

I will probably upgrade from the S22 Ultra to the S24 Ultra. I love the violet but the yellow is really eye-catching, it's more of a cream color. Thanks for posting!

ok, i caved...so quickly...blush.

i reserved. got my email confirmation for the $50 "reservation credit".

thanks for all your clarification, @fuzzylumpkin et al.

it's funny it's all the same group of people year after year after year! it's been at least 5+ years by now, right?
Sheepishly raising hand...I went went for the $50 reservation credit as well. : )

there's only a $50 reservation credit on Samsung.com today.

the earliest pre-order date is January 17th.

is it dumb to reserve today and only get $50 credit? that's not even enough to get a new set of wireless samsung earbuds!! in the past years, i'd always get a new set of wireless earbuds AND a few extra minor accessories like a fast high wattage/amperage charger!

don't know if it's smart or not to reserve today? confusing. why would Samsung punish enthusiast folks like us, right?
The $50 is an extra bonus that's supposedly you can use towards the phone I read that than I've also already read different so who knows. You're still getting the accessory credit of 50,75 or a 100 depending on what phone you get I believe. The $50 is just extra.

"The Reservation Gift cannot be applied to the pre-ordered device(s) and must be used at the time of pre-order purchase towards purchasing additional eligible products on Samsung.com or in the Shop Samsung App."

I wish the reservation & the other credits could be used towards the pre-ordered phone. I remember at one time it was. I don't really need any more accessories. But I know the credit is useful to other people.
😀
I thought I read they were going to let you use the $50 towards the phone Now that was an extra something like they did for the fold and the flip last time?

I think the last time I received a reservation credit that could be applied to the cost of the pre-ordered device was my Note 20 Ultra. My s22 Ultra reservation credit had to go to accessories & I didn't participate in the s20, s21 or s23 pre-orders. I don't really know about the Flip or Fold promotions.

maybe my memory isn't as great you guys, but i can't even seem to remember a single time that any pre-order bonus amounts ever going to reducing the purchase price of the phone!

then again, maybe i forgot.

The wording on the UK reservation page suggests that the £50 credit will be usable on the device itself. It is the first time we've received reservation credit though, usually we just get entered into a prize draw for registering our interest...

We also apparently get a free case and screen protector (which should be in the box with every phone anyway) for answering a couple of innocuous questions when we sign up for the credit, and then the "pre-order to receive a free Galaxy watch 6" mentioned above pops up on the thank you screen.

Obviously though, much as people would like to read into it, this has absolutely no bareing on what happens in the US.

In 2022, when I ordered the S22 Ultra 5G unlocked from Samsung, it was a nightmare actually receiving the delivery of the phone from Fedex. 1st delivery attempt, I was not home. I then left work early a few times but on some days, Fedex did not attempt to deliver. During the next couple of weeks, I missed the delivery twice more. So, I resigned myself to the fact that the package was going to be sent back to Samsung. It was only a miracle that the Fedex delivery man knocked on my door at 8pm one night for a 4th delivery attempt and I was home. So the phone was ordered 2/9/22 and I got it on 3/2/22. My question is this, here we are two years later, is Samsung still placing restrictions on the phone orders? I was not allowed to change the delivery address, pick up at a Fedex location or any other location. As much as I would love to have a new phone, I don't know if I have the intestinal fortitude to go through another three week game of cat and mouse with Fedex. How have y'all fared?

Not saying that it will be the same this year, but last year with the s23 they didn't even require a signature.

I ordered my s22 Ultra through the Samsung app & didn't see any delivery options. FedEx required a signature on that delivery. However, later I read that if you ordered from Samsung's website you could choose to require or decline needing a signature. Last August, FedEx left my Husband & my Samsung Watch 6 orders on the front porch & sent a text with a delivery photo.
