S6 Edge - Screen rotation does not work properly

I keep hearing about this software fix, but can't find any actual links to it, or anything from Sprint/Verizon.... I don't think there really is one being offered by any carrier - but there is some app that has been mentioned by name (though I can't remember the name right now) - I used it and still nothing rotated. I'm waiting for my replacement by mail.

Because there is NO actual fix.....

nope nothing new there....

Per a chat with a Samsung tech that I just had... They say it is software and will have a fix.

and do you believe fix will arrive ? After how long they need to make fix? its been from middle of April more than a month passed....ppl already forgot samsung and bought new phones, i think samsung is gona lose lot of loyal customers.....

It's not a software issue. It's a hardware issue that can be fixed with software patch. Your accelerometer is burned out if it's stuck on one access. I sent mine back to samsung and they replaced the part. I can no longer find the test menu for that part after Sprint pushed the new software update that changes the screen rotation from the accelerometer to the gyroscope.

Only issue I've had is with the camera at the most random times where I take a video/picture in landscape, but it only fills the screen when I hold the phone in portrait mode afterwards, or have to hold the phone at a 45 degree angle lol.

It simply was a bad batch of phones, my first edge had the issue and got hot the new replacement had been good since April 10th and doesn't get hot at all. I use fast charging everyday I use my car fast charging everyday and I use wireless charging everyday.

Anyone know the code for the sensor menu to see the numbers, cause att latest update does say it fixes screen rotation.

I just had my phone replaced, my screen stopped rotating after about 12 days. luckily I was within my 14 day window and best buy replaced it on the spot. The Samsung tech at the store said he had seen 3 or 4 edges now do that, and he was pretty cool about it.

FYI check my android is an app that checks all your sensors. The accelerometer is what takes a crap by the way, all of my other sensors showed normal.

I had that issue. Screen stopped rotating after 4 days. Today it started to rotate. My X axis was stuck for 5 days. Checked my accelerometer and it was no longer stuck. I use sensor kinetics to check my accelerometer. no explanation. I use nova launcher and there was a recent update. That's the only thing I can think that might have affected it.

I'm going to pick one up soon. I might wait a bit more till there is some good news. ALso rumor has it Samsung will release NOTE 5 in July this year ahead of Apple. Waiting to see what NOTE 5 will be before I make my choice. If rumor is true and it really is a 6" inch screen it is a no go for me. Way too big, even with a 4k screen.

I just got my Verizon S6 edge 128gb gold platinum on Wednesday. Everything worked fine at first but now after 24 hours of usage I am getting the upside down camera and no screen rotation. I hope there is a fix for this soon. I waited 1-1/2 months for this phone. I don't want to send it back and have to wait again for a replacement.

Well thats why after 2 phones replaced i decided to drop my SAMSUNG and going to buy new IPHONE 7, i am tired of this nonsense....

What does work in verizon? There must be some app to test it.

CPU-Z in the Play Store. It's the acceleration sensor listed at the top of the sensors page. X & Y should flip flop when you move between horizontal and vertical.

Edit: If any of of the values are stuck it's a hardware fault. No software updates can fix that
