Samsung.com S10/+: Pre-Order Thread

I ordered my girlfriends on 2/21 and hers has had a ship by 3/15. Her cancel button is also now gone. Maybe they are gonna ship some of the 3/15 as well?

My husbands has a ship date of 3/15 his cancel button was still their last night but it would be nice if it got shipped for the 8th also. That was the whole point of doing the reserve thing.
 
I ordered the 128gb on Feb 22 and the hold was successful, but my credit card was cancelled a few days later because the number was stolen. Samsung CS rep told me they would email me for updated payment info when they go to charge my card on file before it ships, but I'm always a little skeptical. Anyone had something like this happen to them?
 
Damn, Ebates is 6% now. BOA Credit Card has Online Shopping 3%..that's almost the full sales tax here in WA (10%)

I looked up the schedule of my S9 for reference. The official release date was Friday, March 16th. Samsung shipped the phone on the 12th and I received it on the 14th. My guess is we'll see our credit cards charged in the next few days and shipment on Monday.

Usually there are two charges. The first, at the time of ordering is a pending charge and confirms the validity of your card. On my account that charge has disappeared since it wasn't settled. The second charge will be the final charge and will occur as the shipping label is created.

Right that's how mine has done. It's so hard not spending that money lol. I'm just ready for them to take the money away from me.
 
The shipment logistics always happen over the weekend. We should expect some movement on Monday. Thus is from my experience with the 2 previous notes.

Ok, don't understand that, but that must be the way it is done. I'll watch and see what happens. I would rather just be done with it, in fact I've already scheduled the payment to the credit card for the charge, the charge is pending and the payment will be made end of today. I would have used PayPal, but Samsung doesn't take PayPal for this, assuming because of the possible charge back on trade in.

There's probably a $550 hold on our accounts for the trade in deal also. I usually don't see holds, that's why I figured it's the actual charge.

When you first pre-order, they're just checking that your credit card is legit (as mentioned) and that you have enough available credit to cover your merchandise (which should cover the merchant) so you should see the initial pending charge on your credit card... Since it is a pre-order and most companies do not charge your credit card until your merchandise has shipped/in the process of shipping, the first charge will drop off a day or two later then you'll get officially charged for your merchandise once shipped.

(I know this is a similar explanation as mentioned, but sometimes different wording makes it click so hopefully this post is helpful.)

Edit: If you pay the full amount in advance, most credit card companies will take that and it'll show as a credit until you are charged for the device (then the extra credit will just offset the cost assuming it's the same).

Gotcha. I hear ya. Samsung uses Digital River it seems. Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong?? DR is active on the evenings during the weekend so hoping (I think) that my cancel option disappears later tonight.

After cancelling my first order, I did use the reservation email for a wireless fast charging stand and looks like they will be shipping together. I went to Samsung accessories a few days ago and added the charger to an empty cart and got "will ship March 4th".

My order for the S10+ and the charger both still say "will arrive by March 8th". I figured I'd check though cause I'd be frustrated if my phone was held due to a charger I added. If it is DR, I've heard plenty of not so good things on pre-ordering but have never had an issue myself.

Guess it's the usual those with good experiences aren't running around to share, but the negatives get repeated/posted all over.

Yeah, we always see the negatives that's for sure. This is my first time with Samsung, so hopefully it goes good.
