Samsung.com S10/+: Pre-Order Thread

Let me know how it works out for you. Ive been wondering if I should add that device coverage on my new S10+. I wasn't sure, because though I haven't had to use it before, I've always purchased Verizon's insurance. I suppose you can't get it through Verizon if you buy your phone directly from Samsung. I need to call and ask them, but still interested in how difficult it is if you ever need to use it!
I'll let you know tomorrow how part 2 nightmare goes. Verizon told me today that I can add their insurance on it since it's new even though I bought direct thru Samsung.
 
First contact... They don't do exchanges. Have to return phone then order a new one. Looks like I'll just be returning it and going back to my note 9. Lesson learned.. Buy from Verizon now on, definitely stay away from Samsung direct.

I have premium care, so have to call them in morning, as I reminded them how premium care says problems with your phone, we will get you a new one next day even if you damage it. I'll see how that goes. I also may have to call fed ex and see if I can get my note 8 sent back. If I return the phone then I have to call and dispute the charge also.

Either way never again direct Samsung.

Yikes. Wow,yes,that sounds awful. Good luck with that. This was my first year ordering directly from Samsung, and though I got my phone and it works great (love it!),I got it kind of late, especially since I preordered on that very first evening that they were available to order. The few times I have needed to call Samsung,put me off on ordering their premium care plan. I just sent back my trade in today, which was a Note 8! I still have a Note 9, and will be keeping it until the Note 10's come out! I always have to have a Note!! So,if things don't turn out this time around for you,at least you'll still have your Note 9!
 
Hey Rose,I didn't get the buds when I got my phone either. I ordered on the first night of preordering too,so it's strange that they ran out, in the "first" day of preordering!?? Doesn't make much sense! I know they have done fantastic sales on the S10,but running out of the promo on the first night? Anyway, my order says, to expect delivery in mid to late April! (You probably know this already! But I just now read your message and wanted to respond. Just in case! Did you ever decide what to do about your order,on the pink one?

Yeah his buds said will be shipped at some point I forget what he said. I wanted to order from Samsung tonight and wait to see if it was gonna get here sooner than 4/5 and then cancel BB cause someone ordered on Mon and got shipping already. Butt since were going out of town Wed I'm worried that is could come while I am out of town so I think I should wait. If I order tonight through Samsung it's the weekend so I am guessing nothing will happen till Monday I don't know what to do.I waited it out till tonight cause Best Buy said their truck would be there around 8 but I never heard anything.
 
Yeah, they are telling me my only option is to return the phone and reorder. That's a problem, I would lose my $130 certificate, and my note 8 is in route to them. A simple exchange is all that's needed.

Go to best buy and the Samsung shop there may be able to exchange if they have it in stock.

My closest best buy doesn't have a Samsung shop anymore. I'm in middle of nowhere. Worse case scenario,I just return the phone. I'm calling FedEx to see if I can turn the package around, after all that's what Samsung told me to do last night.

I have Samsung premium care.. Going to see if they live up to what they say there, problem with phone, we will get you new one next day, even damaged phones. I know I won't get it tomorrow, or Tuesday probably not either, but at least get it going.

Verizon said if I had their warranty/insurance they would have processed the return. So when this is done, I'll probably cancel Samsung and go to Verizon as they said I could add it even if I bought it at Samsung

You have 30 days to add Verizon insurance with a new phone. Add it then switch it out.
 
Well I did it just now I should of done it yesterday early cause who knows if anything happens on the weekends. Only thing I am worried about and why I hesitated is because we leave Wed for out of town and won't be back until Mon. And the person in this thread ordered this past Mon and got shipping info a couple days later and I am worried I'll be out of town if it tries to ship. And I chose one day shipping for 14 bucks. Watch it try to come while I am gone. Will Fed-Ex hold it for me till I get back?

Best Buy said if it comes in while I am gone they only hold for 5 days and they get orders Mon Wed and Fri but I don't expect to see any action on my Samsung one probably till Mon I don't know. I wish if it was going to come towards the end of next week they could ship it to my hotel LOL! I just have to wait it out but I am not cancelling my Best Buy order until I know about this one. And yes now I will lose out on the Buds but I have a $200 Best Buy gift card I was going to use towards the phone and now I have to deal with returning to Samsung. So I'll use my gift card and just buy buds at a later date and maybe buy a Symmetry case which I don't need I have 3 cases already. LOL!
 
Has anyone had to deal with Samsung for warranty? I've heard horror stories, might be easier to just return and go back to my note 9. I can dispute the charge with the credit card company and have them put the money on hold until they can see tracking of Samsung getting the phone back.

I did get the insurance thru Samsung, suppose to get next day replacement, covers warranty and damage, might give that a try, but I don't think they have any in have anyway. Lol

Why are you jumping ship with the S10 plus?

I called Samsung premium care this morning. That was a pleasant experience. They are sending me a new phone. They are of course on backorder, said 4 to 5 days. So, we will see.

Samsung premium must be going thru asurion, the rep said asurion does 2 day shipping.

Definitely night and day difference over dealing with Samsung

Dealing with actual Samsung stinks. I've had a fairly good experience with Samsung+ *knock on wood*

The "we have a truck coming" bit! Oh, I have heard that one so many times! If I were you, once you get back in town call BB and double check on your order. If you have no further progress? Just order from Samsung. Well,that's what I would do. Must be tough watching your hubby with his new phone and you're just waiting! I really do hope they call you soon! Good luck on getting good news from BB!

Sorry I responded earlier about this very thing. I didn't see your most current post. I think you've got a good plan! Oh and I bought a really pretty clear with very fine crystalline glitter, Symmetry case. So worth it!

Verizon or Squaretrade. I tried to add Premium after the fact and was told only could get at time of phone purchase. I added squaretrade for like $9/month

Well I am stupid too late now but I did order from Samsung this am but I forgot until I got the email saying your order has been put on hold. No 2 orders in the same household duh I forgot so I wouldn't get my phone any sooner anyway. So I just gave up cancelled Samsung again cause my husband just got his phone Wed and hasn't sent his in yet. I'm going on vacation Wed so I'll just deal with it when I get back. Their is nothing wrong with my 9 plus. :-) But yes they keep saying we get trucks in Mon Wed and Fri and last Fri it was we have a truck of 60 phones. It's just crazy and because of my color pink they can't even estimate a date and they said it's the same with the white.

I just got a Spigen clear glitter case I want the Symmetry pink and green one or this checkered one and I saw a matching pop socket for the pink and green one. And now Best Buy is sending me a $25 dollar gift card to compensate me which isn't much but I won't get it for 7-10 days. Last year the manager at the store when my S9 plus was late said pick out a free case under 60 bucks cause I lost out on some promotion worth 60 bucks that they were out of. I forget what is was now.

And my nice husband said do you want my phone I'll use my Note 8 until yours comes and I said no you have to turn yours in ASAP. LOL! But thanks everyone sorry for all my rants and long post. I'll let you know when I get it. At least I know how great of a phone it is!
