Hey guys just got my tracking number from Verizon & it says my s8 is scheduled to arrive at my house today September 2nd & just to be clear I am not a Samsung direct member. Heres to a new phone time to throw my LG in the garbage where it belonfs

I called AMEX to advise them that the charge would be coming through. They told me not to worry about it. It would go through. Today, they denied the charge and told me to have the charge reprocessed. I call Samsung.com, they told me my order was cancelled and I would have to reorder. I tried to use the same email address from first order to get the note 7 discount and it said offer as already been redeemed. I call Samsung back to see if I can get the discount again. They told me I would have to email proof of purchase and wait up to 5 days for the discount to reset.

I called on 8/26 to cancel my pre-order for an Unlocked model but b4 the Samsung rep canceled I asked if I would be able to use The Note 7 promo again & she said yes. I had her wait on the phone while I put the 2nd order through. No hassle with the promo at the time, just timing out when submitting the order. Waited about an hour & it went through. They give you so much conflicting info... Always something to make you mad!

Question about unlocked note 8 directly from Samsung. I've always used carrier locked phone purchased from carriers so I'm not too familiar with the unlocked phone. If I buy the unlocked phone from Samsung, I'd be able to use it on any carrier, including carrier's prepaid plan, right? Then why would someone not buy unlocked phone from Samsung? And also I can switch between any carriers if I use their prepaid plans. Am I right?

Yes, but most people don't change carriers and also if you are not on T-Mobile most carrier specific features like WiFi calling, VoLTE etc may not work properly on unlocked models. So yeah choosing unlocked model makes sense because it has a much cleaner firmware without carrier crap etc but unfortunately most people care less about stuff like that that and have zero problem buying carrier devices irrespective of what they do to the phone.

Also, all Verizon phones are SIM unlocked out of the box as mandated by FCC.

Yes that's why I said if you are not T-Mobile it might not work.

I had to stop by Best Buy today and I got to see the Note 8. I held both the S8+ and Note 8, and man the Note 8 is easier to hold without a doubt and I can't wait to get it. That screen blows my iPhone away. It was fast, great colors, light, etc! Hurry up Samsung and ship ours!

No movement on mine yet.
