Samsung: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

I couldn't wait anymore. The headphones weren't worth the wait. I cancelled my Samsung order Wednesday after I talked to three people in an hour fourty-five minutes. I called and he said he didn't know. Email and they said September 26th. Then called again and they said this week. I wouldn't have cancelled but everytime I've contacted them they told me something different. Ordered from AT&T the Purple 512GB version Thursday and it shipped today. It should be here Tuesday 9/4. Glad it's going to make it just in time for my birthday!

Nice dude! I just got my 512gb blue on friday and im lovin it! Youll def enjoy it

Just received my shipping notice from Samsung, my 512gb Blue unlocked is on it's way with duo charger, the free S View case is on backorder.

512gb blue At&t variant ordered 8/20 still shows preorder. 2 different reps replied shipping on week of 9/6 so sounds like some cohesive response other than 9/29 that my invoice originally stated.

Latest and greatest from Samsung. 3 to 5 business days to ship. 2 weeks after launch. Why bother pre-ordering then?

Just to share latest info - I just got off the phone with customer service. They confirmed they won't be processing shipments on Labor Day.

It was the nicest cs rep I have spoken with to date. She also confirmed for me that (for T-Mobile variants) the 512GB version will only be sold online and T-Mobile will not be selling it in stores. Samsung was caught off-guard by the overwhelming demand for the blue 512GB model an they are severely back-ordered. Any new orders placed today have an estimated ship date of 9/30.

Fortunately (for me), she confirmed mine is scheduled to ship week of 9/2, which she said she cannot confirm exact date but it will definitely be shipping between Tuesday and Friday this week.

Translation: Somebody had 1 job and failed to do it. Samsung clearly didn't gauge market interest for the 512GB phones. I think they also dropped the ball on getting the US color options. Why wouldn't they offer us the ability to get the black or orange phones?

I'm pretty surprised at black not being an initial color option myself in the US. I got the ocean blue which I love but still. Black is a great choice and should be a standard option.

I figured tmobile wouldn't sell the 512gb in stores. I recall past notes they didn't sell the larger memory options. I guess due to overhead cost and that.

I think the trade in amounts Samsung offered played a roll too. Because they offered up to $450 trade in towards a Note 9 I think persuaded people to go with the 512gb version over 128gb. hence more people ordered via Samsung.com as well and why it's easier to get a 512gb from a carrier than samsung.com right now. Carriers for most phones offer half that amount, at the max for trade in. More people probably ordered directly from samsung this time around.

I traded an s8 plus in but still went for 128. I simply didn't see spending an extra $250 for all that memory I won't use and if I wanted a 512gb that bad I would have ordered it from B&H or Amazon and I'd know I'd get it faster and better customer support.

T-Mobile soured me on ordering stuff from them when I purchased the Gear S3 Frontier. Nobody i spoke to knew a thing about it. On the release date i walked into a store and tried to buy it. They didn't have it, but said 2 were on the way and should arrive that day. I gave them a business card and asked them to call me when 1 arrived. Less than 2 hours later i got a call saying it was available, and i needed to hurry in since it would be first come first serve. I got there asap to pick it up, but was told somebody else was being helped to buy the one they weren't putting on display. I demand to speak with the manager, made a big scene, and called them out right in front of that customer, too. They ended up selling me the one they were going to put on display. Between T-Mobile and Samsung.com I feel like I'm damned either way i go. I'm not a fan of the idea of using unlocked phones, so much in fact that I was considering the Caterpillar S60 at the same time as the S7 Edge. The fact the S60 was unlocked was enough to make me go with the S7 Edge. In many ways, the S60 is a superior phone. Even has an infrared camera. Anyways, I'm starting to go off topic.

So... word of advice. Don't get your card skimmed the day before your shipment. Someone got my debit card info probably at a gas pump and I had to report the card. And now Samsung is saying " Per the terms and conditions" of the order I can not change the order... or in other words cant update my payment info. At least tell me I look pretty before you do me dirty. Lol

I'm shocked Tmobile even had two watches in stock. Almost all the stores I've seen only have a display unit and you have to order it. Anyway, the carrier stores tend to not carry a lot of phones in stock at the store but get shipments just about everyday. I guess for overhead reasons and also theft reasons as well. Cell stores are known to be robbed for their phones.
