Samsung: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

The only reason I'm not bailing on my pre order is because I want the Samsung premium care service which I know some people have said they had bad luck in the past with it but I've had two incidents that worked out well for me. It's unfortunate Samsung doesn't offer this care program anymore to people that purchase else where like they used to. Otherwise I would have went to BB or amazon by now.

Pre ordered August 15th Samsung direct 512GB Blue have been promised shipping the week of September 2nd and now possibly September 30th. Just poor customer service is all you can call it. Realizing it's a new release but still shouldn't have to wait over a month if you pre ordered in advance.

Since "week of 9/2" was touted so much, I would've expected that they would have been shipping a few hundred a day this week. The lack of movement or noise makes me suspect they hit a hiccup with the supply of a component

So when I chatted with Samsung about this yesterday, I asked what their definition of a week is, and asked why a week starts on Wednesday (I was orginally given a "it will ship the week of 9/5" date) I told him that it is 9/5. So he explained it to me. Even though they word it as "the week of", what they mean is within a week from the given date. So basically it should ship within 7 days from the date you were given. But I still doubt all of this....it might be here by October.

Wish in one hand and crap in the other... see which one fills up first.

On the phone with Samsung, no eta at this time. They said it will ship in the coming weeks. What a joke.

(In Aussie accent) Day 25 in the remote Korean outback trying to find the elusive Note 9. I do beleave I see one... I caught the little bugger! Oh no it's the Note 7... be careful around these. There known to *BAM* CRICKY IT JUST BLEW UP IN MY FACE.

A lot of the complaints I see are about the tmobile 512GB variants. Just order the 512 unlocked from Amazon or B&H and be done with it. Quick shipping and better customer service.

this guy is right. you guys are missing out on an awesome phone. 512gb blue unlocked here tmobile...and it is wonderful from amazon. wooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooo. i once was a preorder slave like you guys, but now i am free.

I ordered the TMobile blue 512GB from Samsung on the 15th and got a shipped notification, and it's showing on fedex site, today.
My estimate from Samsung was the week of 02 Sep so they were correct with my order.

The unlocked model works just like the Tmobile version like with wifi calling. If you had Verizon for example then I'd say order from Best Buy the Verizon one. But if you got Tmobile no reason not to order unlocked. Virtually the same phone.

The purpose of a preorder is so the supply meets the demand on time. If there were none available for the release date they should have removed that specific model from the pre order options. I don't pre order so i can wait longer than someone picking it up on the street i pre order so i get it on release date.

No

And, nobody has said a positive thing about how it would work on the Sprint network. Last I heard, Sprint and T-Mobile were trying to merge.

I just did it. I just said, "Screw it" to Samsung. I cancelled my order. I'm not buying this phone elsewhere. I'm just done with the garbage. I don't need to solicit a company who is going to treat me like trash. Goodbye Samsung. That's talking with my wallet.

My question is... how is there no news of this? There is vauge mentions... and that's it. Preorders of Samsungs flagship phone has over a month to 2 months to ship and thats there PREORDERS. And no peep, no murmur, no fart in the wind by any news outlet, tech site, blog... anything. People are pissed and being led around by there really wags. How is this not in the news. Only high praise for the phone... that it seems the people who preordered cant get our hands on.

You can flash the att version without any problems. There is absolutely no difference in the unlocked or the cell branded other than the software.

So the update, my son got his note 9 128 unlocked in the mail yesterday from samsung. I'm assuming that is the hold since they wont allow more than one turn in at a time per household. Dropped it off in the fedex box this morning so here's hoping they ship it once they get the tracking info. Either way that's probably why I cant cancel and dont have a shipping date. On another note, we both did the 10% credit but they cancelled his headphones. When I told customer service she tried to say we did it. I asked why would I cancel the headphones for free and keep the phone? They are issuing a credit voucher so he can order the headphones again.
