Samsung you're in serious trouble if you think people will pay $1000 for a phone

Re: Does the price bother you?

Of course the price is concerning. On day 1 my total came out to $1,004. Cancelled that. On day 2 my total came out to $654. I'll take that!

Re: Does the price bother you?

I think smartphones are pretty much a necessity now days, so the price doesnt bother me as much as when cellphones first came out and everyone was still using landlines...they were considered a luxury item....on a side note I accidentally left my phone at home while away for a weekend and I went through serious withdrawal, didnt realize how dependent I was on it.

I had just received the Note 7 for the first round (lol) and accidentally had set it down in an isle. I nearly had a stroke and a heart attack looking for it. Scary 5 minute search.

Also left my S8+ in a Starbucks and started driving away, realized it was in there so I stopped right in middle of parking lot and did a full on Sprint back into the store to grab it.

Re: Does the price bother you?

Yes it bothered me.

I cancelled my pre-order today.

At VZW it's about $1100 with tax and some fees. And I got no perks. So it didn't make sense to get it now.
Frankly I am thinking of going with smaller/lighter phones and may wait for the S9 with dual lens camera.

Or Will consider the Note 8 in a couple of months when some real incentives are running.

As a long time Note user, I do not use the S Pen, so it seems to be a waste specially since the Note 8 is just a glorified S8+. And that tall look is just not doing it for me.
:)

Yeah if you have an S8/S8plus, and aren't a big S-pen user, there's no reason to upgrade to the Note 8. Unless you just want something new and shiny.

Re: Does the price bother you?

Well I'm sure you know that just because a phone is expensive doesn't necessarily mean its the best or better than other phones
IMO, Better/Best are relative terms... Better/Best to who? You? I can't speak for you, your tastes or needs. Based on specks and ratings, it's obviously debatable. But for me, if it checks off more things I need/want over the next device, then yes, it is better, even at $950.

Re: Does the price bother you?

And anyone who shelled out $850 plus tax for the S8 plus, really don't have a leg to stand on here lol

Re: Does the price bother you?

Verizon is giving 480.00 off with a trade in for certain phones. It's the best deal out there.

Re: Does the price bother you?

For 920.00 before taxes, yes it does. For 533.00 after taxes, I couldn't wait to jump on that deal. There are too many great phones for half the price out there now. Especially my current favorite the Mate 9, But for 533.00 after taxes, shipping, and a free Gear 360, I could not pass that deal up.

Re: Does the price bother you?

Not with $425 trade in for Note 7 owners, without that trade in I would have skipped since don't want to spend so much for Samsung phone as I have other big purchases lined up (iPhone 8 and Pixel 2 XL).
With $600 total price after iPhone 5 purchase for trade in, it was an impulse buy and couldn't pass on for such a great price.

Re: Does the price bother you?

For $504 before tax, not at all. For the full $930 before tax, possibly.

$459 with unidays discount :D although I did have to buy an iphone 5 for $70 for the trade in so total of $530 but I agree at $930 is too much

Not in the least.

My smartphone is used from the moment I wake to the moment I sleep, for communicating and keeping in touch with my entire family, morning prayer, enjoying music, and for any and everything regarding work.

Holding a multitasking computer in my hands, for less than $1000, in my case $30 a month after trading in an old N4, makes complete sense.

And with the arrival of my Dex doc and new Black Note 8, I just avoided spending $1200 for a new desktop for work at my home

Go Note 8!!!

You shouldn't be comparing a $1200 CPU to what dex can do, you can do simple taks dex but you can also do that with a $50 desktop
