When on android I always root and put a stock launcher as the UI. Yes TouchWiz or other skins look better but this gets rid of the incessant bloatware prevalent on Samsung and Chinese devices.

I tried at vzw store. Vzw pixel "expert" tried too. No dice? Maybe missing an update or something? It wouldn't zoom on HD 16/9 video. Do you have Netflix? Does it work there too? Big feature for me. It works on iPhone X as well.

Lol expert at Verizon. The irony there is hilarious.

On YouTube you simply pinch to zoom in. You know how to zoom in on pictures and such, right? Same thing. You do that and the video takes over the whole screen.. no black bars.

Netflix has a button at the bottom right. On videos with black bars such as Family Guy season 2 you simply tap that at the bottom right. Screen fills in.

Not trying persuade you to get a Pixel or anything just saying call blocking + zooming in for no black bars is not a Samsung only thing .

It's likely they didn't have an updated version of the YouTube app. This is an app feature, not a phone feature.

I personally prefer Samsung phones. Bluetooth functionality is much better. It seems like everything update Google pushes there's an article about some Bluetooth bug. Not to mention, Samsung phones connect to multiple devices at once. This is clutch for me. That's something stock doesn't seem to do. My Moto Z is pretty close to stock and can't connect to more than one device either. It's quite frustrating. I don't really understand the whole duplicate apps thing. Pick which one you want to use and just ignore the other one. You can even hide it from the launcher if it really bothers you that much. It sounds like it just burns people up knowing that a duplicate app is there lol. Updates wise though, stock is always going to be faster so I definitely understand that. Different strokes for different folks. Glad we have choice.

He did it wrong then. I just did it again on a YouTube video. Filled the screen just like it did on my S8+.

I tried too. Had to be lack of an update. I pinched and unpinched but nothing. I believe you completely. Just didn't work in the store. Do you have vzw ed.?

Yes but it doesn't matter truly if it's a Verizon edition or Google one. They're all the same except for bootloader being locked on the Verizon one.

What about Bluetooth? I sit true it can only connect to 1 device at a time. My phone connects by Bluetooth to my car and watch simultaneously.

I connect to my headset and truck at the same time. That's a Bluetooth 5 feature. Not phone specific.

The pinch thing... Keep in mind that store phones may or may not have ever been updated. To get Google play updates, you need to be logged into a Google account, something that is rarely done on store phones.

YouTube didn't get pinch zoom until middle/late November. Those phones may very well still be running the original factory image, Google apps and all.

Are you sure about the multiple devices thing? Multiple people have said it doesn't. Can it connect to multiple headset profiles? I can understand if you're streaming music to the truck and using headset for phone calls but from what other people have told me, it can't connect to two at the same time under the same profile.

100 percent sure. I have my BT headset at work connected and hop in my truck for lunch.. it connects to my truck and is still connected to my headset.

It's a Bluetooth 5 feature.
