Seidio Innotraveler Car Kit for Evo - PICS/Detail

I'm thinking about buying this but I need to mount it on my harley. I have tried the suction cup mounting systems before but always had to tether it with paracord in case it decided to depart the pattern while on the road. For those of you who have it, how hard is it to remove the mounting arm and are there screws that hold it in place or the four, square patterns placed locking tabs? If anyone could post a pic of it with the mounting arm off I would really appreciate it.

I just sent this PM to seidioseidio. I'll let you guys know when I hear back from them.

Hi, I got you Innotraveler Car Kit for the HTC Evo as soon it was available. I like it a lot, but my only problem with it is that it doesn't automatically go to car mode when I connect my Evo to it. I thought it was defective, but after seeing some members in this thread having the same problem, I started to think that's just the way it was designed. So I double checked your product description on your website and I still see this piece of info on there... "Automatically puts your device in car dock mode when placed in dock." I was going to send you guys an email saying to remove that line because it's false advertisement, but my coworker showed me his Innotraveler Car Kit for his HTC Evo (which he just received yesterday) and it actually puts his Evo to Car mode! So I connected my own Evo to it to see what would happen and my Evo also went to car mode. I then had him connect his Evo to my Innotraveler Car Kit and his Evo didn't go to car mode.

So now I know for a fact that my Innotraveler Car Kit for the HTC Evo (along with the other members in the thread above) is defective. Can we please get a replacement?

Thank you. Looking forward to your reply.

There are four square tabs that locks the arm and cradle together. I can take a picture of it for you tomorrow.

As i posted at XDA...The early models were flawed and didnt have the proper car dock pins shorted
For those of you that ordered prematurely and your dock doesnt got into car mode, there is hope...i just got done with a chat with customer service...

Lilian: Hello! Thank you for contacting Seidio Online! How can I help you today?
Me: I have a question about Order#: xxxxxx. It included a Innotraveler Car Kit. The website says it should go into car dock mode, but it doesnt. What is the issue?
Lilian: One moment please. Let me check it for you.
Lilian: We apologize for the mistake. We're actually doing replacement for the car kit.
Lilian: We'd like to ship you a correct one with a prepaid shipping label.
Me: that would be great
Lilian: After you receive them, please return the original car kit to us.
Lilian: We'll process your replacement in 1-2 business days and will send you an email once it's finished.

Seidio shipped my new cradle a few days ago along with a prepaid shipping label. I should get it by Monday. After it arrives, I'll have to ship my old cradle back to them.

I ordered one of these a few days ago, and received it yesterday. There is an intermediate piece that connects the cradle to the stand, and it wasn't in my order! Argh! I used the chat function at the Seidio website and the rep readily agreed to send me the adapter piece. It is coming Fedex saver, he declined to send it by a speedier method. I obviously can't try it out as intended, but I can confirm that the cradle (with the adapter for a case-less EVO) holds my EVO with the extended battery very snuggly. My suspicion is that it couldn't fall out unless violently shaken while being held upside down, though I'm not going to test that!

Similarly slow on the Seidio kit. Drains rapidly while navigating. I checked with Current Widget and it showed charging at the same rate as my HTC charger, though.

I have the Seidio 3500 mah battery with the car kit, and it charges fine with the navigation running, I will start 3 hours after pulling it off the charger, and it will be fully charged 40 mins later while running navigation and bluetooth.
