So... All day battery life???

I have just got the phone yesterday, and been very impressed with the Note 9 battery performance.

I am not a heavy user, mostly reading news/email. Since using the phone from ~ 8am - 10pm, the phone is still showing 56% battery.

With my old Note 3 phone, I would have to charge the phone every day or it would run out of juice by the end of the day.

I get more than a full day on a charge. I took my phone off the charger at 5:15 am this morning and now it's 8:51 and I still have 22% battery

are you using the Facebook app or viewing Facebook through a browser? One of my biggest battery drains seems to be Facebook and through the years I have read That's one of the biggest offenders... I am trying to decide if better battery life comes from using Facebook through browser instead of the app..

I use strictly the app and then at times I use Hootsuite since I do a lot with social media and have a few fan pages as well I admin.

But mostly Facebook app and their fanpage app.

I never got 6 hours SOT with my Pixel 2XL and am getting much better with the Note 9 comparatively speaking. But, we aren't using our devices the same so YMMV. Admittedly, the first 2 days my battery was draining quick but has settled down noticeably since.

This is only my 2nd full day of use so I am going to see if settles down and gets better. I things it's good but I guess I was just spoiled by the Pixel 2XL.

This thing is insane!! Just got back from a Dinosaur Jr show as well and shot vids... still at 26%!! LOL!!!

What resolution are most people using, FHD+ or WQHD+?
Running anything less than WQHD+ is an insult to the Note 9's fantastic screen! That was the first thing I did when I got it... max out the resolution!

at first glance i did find my pixel 2 XL was better on the battery but as lots of posters have been saying, these things do settle down with time. I do miss the squeeze for the assistant tho. i used that way more than I realised.

I have been using mine now for a week. I consider myself a light user; play no games, watch maybe 15-20 mins of video and listen to 30 mins of Spotify a day. No calls. The rest is browsing/messaging.

On average I get 15-16 hours of battery life with about 3 - 3.5 hrs of screen on time. Have battery monitors installed and the only gigantic drain on the battery is the display. I have turned off all "advanced features", have disabled the always on display and still the phone hardly makes it through the day. I have to recharge at night when I get home or it will deplete.

while this battery is good(yes all day good) its certainly not as good as the p20 pro battery, not yet anyway.
ill keep you posted!!

Yep... Why spend $1000 to get the best of the best, then not use it as such?

On my first full day of use, I got 16:02 on a full charge, including 5:38 of screen time, 0:11 of voice calls, 0:25 of Skype video chat, 0:27 of camera use, and 0:41 of Netflix. That's with no power saving (aside from adaptive WiFi) and all standard features turned on, including AOD and WQHD+.

A couple of notes...
- First, iPhone comparisons are not valid, they have a long documented history of slow battery loss at the high end, and then rapidl loss as the battery gets low. This is likely programming on how the indicator displays the %'s in order to deceive you into believing the battery is fuller than it really is. The last 30% of an iPhone tends to fall like a large rock.

THIS explains why the battery in my iPhone 8 Plus would tank quickly if it was less than 30%!! Thank you for mentioning this. Oh Apple...you should be ashamed! LOL

Is anyone going back to apple or waiting for the iphone x plus before deciding to keep your Note 9??

Hello,

I will like to know what do you guys do differently because in my experience is not better than my iPhone 7 plus that exchange for the note 9. so i listen to podcast, bluetooth, google maps twice a day for about 20 mins each way, 10 to 15 m of youtube, text messages, browser.... really normal stuff and around 3 PM is in the low %30!!! so is a BEAST if you dont used it ? or what am i doing wrong ???

This is the part that make me hesita about android this morning when i got up i pick the phone %100 charge, check my alarms check my email took me about 3 min and it was already at %99 seriously !!!

This is easily an all day phone for me, I do have an iPhone X and had Pixel 2 XL and gets better battery than both of them which I expected to given the size of the battery on this one. Overall not disappointed in terms of battery life, can easily get 6 hrs or more screen on time with my usage patterns. Other Android phones was around 5 hrs.

You’re leaving iOS?

With my usage patterns and my phone always being plugged in to android auto when I commute(30-45 minutes each way). I have had this phone since last Friday and have only put it on the charger at night twice. I have never dipped below 40% battery in the week I have had this phone. That is impressive considering the same usage patterns on my iPhone x, which I had to charge every night.
